The King delivers another brief speech and invites everyone to enjoy their meal.
Merry snags the only table with two chairs and seats his dancing companion with him. He hopes to find out about her as dancing did not allow them to talk.
She plucks her napkin from the table and fiddles with it nervously as she faces her dancing partner across the table. She had hoped to be seated with some of the teens as they would not have made her nearly this nervous. She glances up at him as he tells her, "My name is Merry. What is your name?
"I'm Charlotte Grace."
"You have a beautiful name. Where have you been my whole life?" he asks.
She looks surprised at the way he worded his question and he is smiling flirtatiously at her again. It was much easier when they were dancing. All she had to do was smile back at him. She is thinking to herself and has no clue how to respond.
' Oh, criminy! I knew coming to the ball was a bad idea. I'm not cut ought for this kind of flirting. He is looking at me expectantly. How do I answer this? Should I tell him where I'm from? Yes, that is the best I can do. If I don't say anything I will just look like a complete dweeb. He's so cute and has the prettiest laughing eyes and he thinks I have a beautiful name.'
She sighs, gathers her thoughts, and answers his question probably more seriously then he anticipated.
"I grew up in Roaring Heights. My parents were professors and had jobs at the nearby university." He looks interested and nods at her to continue. "I'm an only child as my parents traveled quite a bit before settling down in Roaring Heights. I was a late in life baby for them. They both passed from this life while exploring abroad and were caught in a cave in while I was at university."
Merry looks solemn. "I'm so sorry you lost them so young in your life."
"Thank you. They were good parents and raised me to be independent. I finished university and my degree. I decided to travel and took temporary teaching jobs as I moved around the world. I wanted to visit the Realm, our historical home. I'd heard so much about it and applied for a position here. Luckily the elementary teacher was retiring, and I was hired." She couldn't think of anything else to say, so she turned the conversation back to him. "What about you? Tell me about yourself?"
Merry shrugs. " I grew up here in Roswyn. My family has lived here for centuries, so this is home. I left to attend university and planned to travel and work in the science field but, returned home to help my family during a crisis. I did some traveling when things settled down, but, I always seem to be drawn back here."
"Is your family here tonight?"
"Yes, my father is King Aagda and my mother is Queen Naida."
She looked startled. "Oh, you are Prince Merry. Why didn't you say so from the beginning? You should not let me monopolize you. I'm certain you should have been at one of the royal tables."
Merry grins his incorrigible grin at her. "I'm exactly where I wanted to be. I had Minister Daryl switch the place cards. I'm sure you would have been bored to tears sitting next to Minister Warren. He's absolutely a stickler for protocol and pomp. I hope you are not bored sitting with me."
Charlotte looks even more flustered from his obvious attention as she is not used to flirting as she has always been incredibly shy and not sociable at all. Her parents were old fashioned and kept her close to home. She spent most of her time growing up with her parents' adult friends whose children had already grown and gone. Her life since their death has revolved around studying, reading books, teaching children, and meeting their parents.
Merry senses that he has made her uncomfortable. He starts talking about the band members and how they grew up together in Roswyn to allow her time to relax. She laughs and relaxes as he describes the fun and mischief they got into during their early years. Before long the meal is over and Merry asks if she would like to dance with him. She nods yes and he takes her hand and leads her to the dance floor.
The elaborate meal is over, so is the band's break. The band performs several of their most popular hits and the guests gather round singing and dancing along with the band. Flame and Flash begin one of their choreographed duets, and the energetic crowd responds enthusiastically.
After the duet Flame picks up her guitar and softly strums as she humbly thanks the King and Queen for allowing them to celebrate Adam's joyous homecoming. She thanks the audience for the warm welcome home. "I hope to see each of you wandering around town over the next few weeks. We plan on being here for a month or so working on some new music for the next album and tour. As you know my stage name is Flame but my friends call me Alexis."
Flash strums his guitar softly as Flame makes his introduction. " Flash is my singing partner. He grew up here as well and is better known to many of you as Vince." Several of the audience members whistle and clap loudly, sighing at Flash's good looks hoping to catch his eye while they are in town.
Ash strikes a pose just as Flame makes his introduction. "Ash, otherwise known as the jester as well as Glen."
Keeping a slow, soft rhythm with his drums, Fury acknowledges the introduction with a flourish. "Fury grew up here with all of us and is better known as Dean. He and Merry kept us all on our toes with their mischief." She grins over at Merry who is grinning back.
"On keyboard and vocals is Jet, known in the neighborhood as Melanie. We have a few more songs for you to enjoy before calling it a night."
After dancing a few more times Prince Merry notices that Grace is looking flushed and warm. "Are you ok?"
"I'm feeling a bit hot."
"Let me walk you to the alcove and see if there is a breeze."
They walk to the alcove and it is much cooler with a lovely breeze blowing in from the ocean. "Thank you, you should go back inside and enjoy the music. I'll be fine out here."
"I can hear the music just fine. I'd rather be with you if that's ok?"
Grace smiles shyly. "Yes, are you sure?"
"Absolutely!" Merry escorts her to the bench, and they sit down and chat. Merry realizes Grace does not know just how beautiful and alluring she is. She is not at all like others that he has dated. He doesn't understand why he feels so strongly about Grace, but he also knows he cannot flirt and carry on with her like he would other women. She is as skittish as a kitten in a room full of dogs. He makes a decision to stop the flirting and treat her as a friend. They discuss many subjects as they sit in the alcove and Merry finds that he is not the least bit bored with Charlotte's company. She is very intelligent and is not afraid to speak her mind and differ with him on opinions. He loves that she does not defer to him because of his parentage.
He hears Flame call out the last song. "Time to cuddle up with your partner." They play a long intro to give everyone time to return to the dance floor.
He asks Charlotte if she would dance the last dance with him. She takes his hand and nods happily. As they walk together hand in hand back to the dance floor, she is thinking to herself.
'What a wonderful night this turned out to be. As much as I didn't want to come, I'm very happy Daria pushed me into agreeing. I will treasure the memory of the perfect ball and a handsome and attentive young man dancing with me and making the night special.
Back inside one young couple had been dancing the previous song in each other's arms. They seemed to forget that everyone could see the obvious change in their relationship. They only had eyes for each other.
Nickolas spots his daughter and Kaifindar dancing cheek to cheek. With a thunderous look, he starts to move across the dance floor. Anastasia grabs his shoulder holding him back. "Don't you dare charge across the floor without thinking this through. They are in full company of a room full of people and are doing nothing wrong. They've known each other since they were in diapers and this is the first time I bet either have felt anything remotely romantic about each other. You will embarrass your daughter and I won't let you do that. You would regret it, but once done it cannot be undone."
Nickolas takes a couple of deep breaths. "I had hoped she would not be interested in boys for another 20 or 30 years." He takes another few deep breaths. "I guess you need to have that talk with her. Thank you for stopping me from making a fool out of myself. Briana would hate me more than she already does."
Anastasia hugs him and laughs softly. "Sweetie, she doesn't hate you. She's is asserting her need for independence which you are doing your best to stop. You two are like oil and water right now. It will all work out. Besides, I had that talk with her and Bran two years ago. I will give her a refresher though if it makes you feel better. Let's go dance, and don't dance us next to them so you can glare at poor Kaifindar."

I like that Merry didn't instantly reply to her, "I'm a member of the royal family and yada yada," but spoke more casually. It shows how humble he is.
Now the truth comes out. Her response was totally a normal one. It's cute that Merry switched their cards and then what he said about Minister Warren. This convo they are having is so dang cute!
Merry is so thoughtful. He's got some great qualities.

Yeah, Merry would be happy not telling anyone he is part of the royal family but he is. He's had to learn that some will be awestruck and others matter of fact about it and treat him normal and others are users.
I tried to have everyone sitting kinda like a fancy party would, boy-girl and with Adam and Sam sitting next to Queen Naida and Alice and Emma next to the King. I couldn't exactly do it because the table was too small to add two more chairs. I don't like mooing tables! But, I didn't want empty space either, so I plunked the Willowisps down at the Kings table.
The band was fun to figure out. I actually downloaded some poses but never had to use them. It's all EA animations. I did most of the figuring out thank goodness when I had the band test the stage so no lag during that. I had the band members jam and play together rather than attempt to play as a band. When I needed Flame to sing I used her singing career and assigned her a song to sing. It was truly good luck that when I needed Flame and Flash (he had singer career also) singing together I assigned them the same song and they actually synchronized. I was a happy camper! The only hitch is they always wanted to leave the stage and go out in the audience to sing. I had to moo them back on the stage.
Isn't Vince so cute! I'm gonna have to play him too eventually.
I think they all look sexy in their rocker personas. I tried to make them different from their everyday look. I think Melanie is the only one that has the same hair. It just suits her so well.

I actually was looking at the picture of Briana and Kaifindar and was just gonna show them dancing close. Then I thought if I had looked at a boy that way that young, my Daddy would have had a fit. So, it got put in the story.

It was tempting to have him become the heir, but that would take the story in another direction from what I originally visioned and I couldn't see Adam wanting that life.

I finally caught up, I'm sorry it took me so long. I loved every update so much I don't know where to start! The babies, or should I say toddlers now are very adorable. I loved all their baby talk and the pictures of them scratching up the furniture. But the most exciting thing to see was Adam finally getting definite answers about his family. I can't imagine how it would feel to decide if you want to become King or not. I guess Adam is very grateful to have found his answers but he has already made a family of his own in Alice and the others. I think his decision to abdicate was a good one, as this way they can continue to live how they want. The fairy realm is just beautiful, it's hard to choose my favourite area as it's a tossup between the castle and the portal entry with the path lined with tulips. And my gosh I don't know how you managed so many sims at once! The ball was beautiful and I can see how that waltz mod would have come in handy. I loved how you dressed everyone up and I'm really ecstatic that Kaifindar and Briana kissed!! I am loving the connection between Merry and Charlotte Grace. But the most awesome thing is that band, just wow!!!! Count me in as one of Flash's groupies I can't wait to read more. I almost forgot to mention how much I'd love to see Kailon and Nissa reunited, whether they already are in the afterlife I don't know. Still I think having their urns placed together would be really beautiful
@coco I love that you wanted to catch up on the story and did! Thanks so much for commenting. I love having the toddlers around. I keep them occupied with playing together and exploring and they seem to be very happy with the occasional bad mood. (the toddler activity mods are terrific) The waltz mod was perfect for the ball. I'm not sure if I will ever want to do that many sims again. It was a struggle because of the lag and waiting for the commands to go through. It sure made for some beautiful pics for the story though. I'm happy to add you to Flash's groupies. I have not done a band in so long. That was so much fun setting them up. I will definitely play them again. Adam has the last quest now, to find his mother's remains. I hope Adam's wolf instincts and memories will help him find her.

Guess I had less to read than I thought. All caught up and anxiously waiting for the next update!
The ball ended in the early hours of the morning and everyone said it was one of the most successful balls in many years. The families slept late and luckily the toddlers didn't wake anyone too early. After a delicious brunch, the suitcases were taken outside to be sent ahead through the portal by the castle staff. One by one they gathered in front of the inn still talking about the ball, the music, the band, and how much fun they all had. Nickolas catches up to Briana and casually asks her if she enjoyed the ball.
"Yes, it was actually quite fun even with all the stuffy protocol stuff we had to do. I'm glad you taught me how to waltz so I didn't embarrass myself. Kaifindar thought I was the most graceful fairy he has danced with."
Nickolas laughs and teases her. "So, I do have some good ideas sometimes, like teaching you to waltz and learning the royal protocol."
Briana giggles and teases back. "Yep, Dad's are apparently good for some things." Seeing her Dad relaxed and smiling she decides to remind him about driving lessons. "Speaking of good things, can we start driving lessons soon? I've kept my grades up and my chores get done and I passed the written test with flying colors."
Nickolas sighs softly, realizing his little girl is growing up and he must help her on her path whether he likes it or not. "I'd say it is time for you and Bran to learn to drive. We've got that little car in the garage and I'll get it tuned up and we can start with lessons. Sound like a good plan?"
"Perfect! Thanks, Dad!" He puts his arm over her shoulder and they find Bran and give him the good news. Anastasia is watching the encounter with an approving smile. She knows how hard this is for Nickolas to let go of another daughter.
They walk the short distance to the arboretum to take the portal back to Dragon Valley. Most of the royal family have come to say goodbye. They linger chatting about keeping in touch, not wanting the visit to end, but knowing it must. Finnian decides to play games with Adam and transforms into his fairy form and flits around his head teasing him. Even with Adam's quick werewolf reflexes, he is not fast enough to catch Finnian. They laugh together and Adam hugs his uncle. "Thank you for your understanding and for helping me to know my father."
Kafindar pulls Briana behind the arboretum for a private goodbye. He only has a few minutes as he is on his way to school and cannot be reported late. He holds her hands and pulls her to him hugging her tight loving how she fits perfectly next to him. He whispers, "I'm going to miss you. Will you think of me? Will you dream of me? I know I will be dreaming of you, holding you in my arms and dancing the night away." He kisses her softly and lets her go. She reaches out to him but he is already hurrying off to school. Briana watches as he runs down the path. She sighs deeply, touches her lips and whispers..."yes, I will miss you, I will be thinking of you and dreaming of you and our night together."
The children sit in a group with the baby Willow in the middle. Finissa peers down at Willow. "She's green! Why is she green? Did someone paint her? I painted the walls with my crayons and got into trouble. Someone's gonna be in trouble painting the baby."
Fillian answers as his Dad explained to him why Willow is green. "She's not painted. She's a plant baby. Dad said she is a rar...a rar...rartee. Well, it means she's special that's what he said."
Finissa giggles at Fillian. "She doesn't have wings."
Fillian shrugs. "She's not a fairy baby. She doesn't need wings."
Kailena looks at Finissa. "I don't have wings. I have claws."
Drew giggles and growls. "Rrrawr, I have big teeth."
"I think we are all special!" Kailena announces and the others nod in satisfaction.
They finally make their goodbyes and go through the portal arriving back in Dragon Valley. It is late and they are exhausted. The little ones are settled into their beds. Adam takes Alice's hands as they watch Kailena fall asleep. "It was a wonderful visit, but it sure is nice to be home."
Alice squeezes his hands. "It sure is. You have a wonderful family and I expect there will be many trips in the future for us both to Midnight Hollow and the Fairy Realm. It will always be great coming home."
"I love you so much, Alice. Home will always be you for me. I feel in my soul this is where we are meant to live. The Fates guided us here and we will make our home here together and with our friends who chose to join us." Adam holds her in his arms and carries her off to bed.
The night is dark and quiet and the young families sleep peacefully back home at Red Dragon Lair.

I love those cc tulip fields. One of my favorite flowers and the creator did such an awesome job with so many choices for colors.
No rest for Adam! He stayed home long enough for the next update which I hope to start writing this afternoon. (a light day at work so far) I've taken most of the pictures.

Getting back home is always nice, and they must be exhausted after the long night at the ball. Sleeping sim couples look so sweet .

The next morning, Adam wakes up hungry and hurries downstairs to fix cinnamon biscuits he is craving. It has been a while since he cooked except on the grill. He enjoys creating and experimenting, but cinnamon biscuits are perfect and no experimenting is needed.
Marshall arrives carrying Drew and sets him in the high chair. He fixes a large bowl of oatmeal with blueberries. Drew pushes his Dad away indicating he will feed himself. Marshall turns, watching Adam obviously enjoying preparing breakfast. "Smells good. With everyone else knowing how to cook, I've never felt the desire to learn."
"These are easy if you want to start with something fundamental."
"I really would rather not cook it myself," laughs Marshall.
Alice awakens feeling absolutely miserable. She hurries to the bathroom barely making it in time. She wonders if she is pregnant. This is certainly the first symptom she experienced previously. She brushes her teeth, washes her face, and takes a quick shower. She is already feeling better. "I'm pregnant," she sings joyously to the mirror.
Jennifer is feeling a little bit off this morning too. She hurries to the bathroom, but her nausea eases before she gets sick. She finishes getting ready for the day and walks over to the main house. Alice is coming down the staircase, and she whispers to her. "I think I might be pregnant. Can you check?"
Alice has improved in her abilities as a witch over time and is able to sense that Jennifer is pregnant. "Yes, you are. I am pregnant too," she exclaims happily.
Jennifer nods thoughtfully. "We were not planning this to happen so soon. Well, this way the kids will grow up together."
Alice hugs her best friend. "It will work out. Marshall is an awesome Dad and loves being home with Drew. He will be in heaven looking after another one. I'm not telling Adam yet. I know he is arranging his trip to retrieve his mother's remains. I don't want to delay the trip by telling him. It is not like I'm having the baby in a few days. He will be back before the baby is born." She grins up at Jennifer.
"I will not inform Marshall either. I'm certain he is planning on going with Adam. I can't see him allowing Adam to do this alone. It is rogue werewolf territory he will be traveling in."
Dedric and Wisteria work together getting their little ones ready for the day. "I'm hoping the gardener we hired took good care of the garden while we were gone." Dedric tickles Fillian as he chats with Wisteria.
"He had a very good reference from Anastasia, so I certainly hope so too. We will find out after breakfast. Adam wants us to have a breakfast meeting this morning." Wisteria plays with Willow and loves hearing that baby coo and laugh as she tosses her gently and makes faces at her.
They enjoy a delicious breakfast together, and Adam tells them about his plans for his trip while they eat. "I will be traveling through rogue werewolf country so I'm sorry, but I feel it is safer to travel alone. I cannot risk taking anyone with me." Adam is surprised that Alice does not immediately make any protests to his statement. The protest comes from another, and Adam is taken aback.
Marshall pushes back his plate and stares at Adam. "You are not going alone! Either I go with you or call Victor and he will track you and probably smack you around for being stubborn and not taking me with you. For that matter, I can track you and smack you around myself. No matter how strong you are you cannot take on a pack of rogue wolves yourself if you are caught. Do you want to risk Alice's life as well as your own? You need someone at your back, and it cannot be Dedric as they will smell his fairy scent once he enters their territory. You don't smell of fairy, despite your genetics. Fortunately, your wolf overpowers your fairy genes. If they are hunting, they may sense us. We must push to get there before the next full moon."
Adam is surprised by the passion and anger in Marshall's voice. "I admit I had not thought about being caught. I don't plan to be caught. I'm reasonably confident I remember exactly where to go even though I was a young kid at the time. It was on the outskirts of the territory that the rogues claim and a good distance away from where the pack camped. I will be able to track it once I am close enough. I don't want to risk Alice's life, but I also don't want to risk your life, Marshall."
Jennifer looks over at Alice nodding and smiling at how well they undoubtedly know their men. "Adam, I agree with Marshall. We are all hoping it will be a quick trip with no problems. People travel in that area all the time and it is rare when something happens these days. You need backup, though.
Alice looks over at Adam as she takes the empty plates to the kitchen to be cleaned later. "I agree with Marshall and Jennifer. You need backup. You cannot go it alone. You two are stronger together than a pack of rogues, and you know it."
Dedric nods in agreement. "I vote Marshall goes with you. We agreed a long time ago when we moved together and bought the property together we would vote over important issues and the majority would rule. I think this is one of those times Adam."
All eyes turn to Wisteria. She loves this family they have become but is still a bit nervous speaking up. She looks over at Adam who smiles reassuringly at her and nods as if to say 'go-ahead'. "This is one of our first important votes since we purchased the property. I appreciate your concerns and reasons Adam, but I have to agree with the others. You need someone with you. I've watched you and Marshall spar and it would be hard for anyone to defeat the two of you. I vote Marshall goes with you. If we could somehow mask Dedric's fairy scent I would vote he goes as well. He has some spells that would come in handy if you two did have to fight. Is there any way to do that Alice?"
Alice has returned to the table and looks puzzled as well as thoughtful. "That is a very intriguing idea Wisteria. There is nothing that I know of at this time, but it is something I can try to discover in the archives for the future or develop myself. It could be immensely helpful in protecting any occult needing to travel in unfamiliar territory. There are still those who want to capture a fairy, genie, or other occult for their own nefarious purposes. I will definitely research this idea."
"I guess I've been overruled by the majority," Adam, sighs accepting the decision of the group. "Marshall will go with me. My plan was to leave in the morning. Is that ok with you? Is there anything you have going on that will delay us leaving?
"Nope, that will work," Marshall replies after looking over at Jennifer to see if she agrees.
Adam stands up. "Ok, one more thing to do before you go about the rest of the morning. I know everyone has things to do to catch up on since we were gone. Please form a circle. Marshall, you have the bag?
Marshall nods and they form a circle realizing what is up. Marshall has Alice, Jennifer, Dedric, and Wisteria draw straws out of a sack. Jennifer holds a blue straw. Wisteria pulls out a yellow one. Alice and Dedric each have green straws They are the next to get dragons. (I didn't share in the story, but Marshall got his a while back.)
Marshall collects the straws. "Jennifer and Wisteria will get dragons when we return from this trip. Dedric and Alice please join us in the nesting room this afternoon at 2 pm."
Adam uses the old maps to show Marshall where he thinks they need to go. "It will take a few days to get there, but coming home should be faster. I guess we should be home in three to five days.
While waiting for Dedric and Alice, Marshall chats with his purple dragon Amanth while Adam feeds what looks like a giant bug to Tymenth. They place them on the ground to run around and the purple dragon happily sends out sparkles.

Adam's Quest
The King delivers another brief speech and invites everyone to enjoy their meal.
Merry snags the only table with two chairs and seats his dancing companion with him. He hopes to find out about her as dancing did not allow them to talk.
She plucks her napkin from the table and fiddles with it nervously as she faces her dancing partner across the table. She had hoped to be seated with some of the teens as they would not have made her nearly this nervous. She glances up at him as he tells her, "My name is Merry. What is your name?
"I'm Charlotte Grace."
"You have a beautiful name. Where have you been my whole life?" he asks.
She looks surprised at the way he worded his question and he is smiling flirtatiously at her again. It was much easier when they were dancing. All she had to do was smile back at him. She is thinking to herself and has no clue how to respond.
' Oh, criminy! I knew coming to the ball was a bad idea. I'm not cut ought for this kind of flirting. He is looking at me expectantly. How do I answer this? Should I tell him where I'm from? Yes, that is the best I can do. If I don't say anything I will just look like a complete dweeb. He's so cute and has the prettiest laughing eyes and he thinks I have a beautiful name.'
She sighs, gathers her thoughts, and answers his question probably more seriously then he anticipated.
"I grew up in Roaring Heights. My parents were professors and had jobs at the nearby university." He looks interested and nods at her to continue. "I'm an only child as my parents traveled quite a bit before settling down in Roaring Heights. I was a late in life baby for them. They both passed from this life while exploring abroad and were caught in a cave in while I was at university."
Merry looks solemn. "I'm so sorry you lost them so young in your life."
"Thank you. They were good parents and raised me to be independent. I finished university and my degree. I decided to travel and took temporary teaching jobs as I moved around the world. I wanted to visit the Realm, our historical home. I'd heard so much about it and applied for a position here. Luckily the elementary teacher was retiring, and I was hired." She couldn't think of anything else to say, so she turned the conversation back to him. "What about you? Tell me about yourself?"
Merry shrugs. " I grew up here in Roswyn. My family has lived here for centuries, so this is home. I left to attend university and planned to travel and work in the science field but, returned home to help my family during a crisis. I did some traveling when things settled down, but, I always seem to be drawn back here."
"Is your family here tonight?"
"Yes, my father is King Aagda and my mother is Queen Naida."
She looked startled. "Oh, you are Prince Merry. Why didn't you say so from the beginning? You should not let me monopolize you. I'm certain you should have been at one of the royal tables."
Merry grins his incorrigible grin at her. "I'm exactly where I wanted to be. I had Minister Daryl switch the place cards. I'm sure you would have been bored to tears sitting next to Minister Warren. He's absolutely a stickler for protocol and pomp. I hope you are not bored sitting with me."
Charlotte looks even more flustered from his obvious attention as she is not used to flirting as she has always been incredibly shy and not sociable at all. Her parents were old fashioned and kept her close to home. She spent most of her time growing up with her parents' adult friends whose children had already grown and gone. Her life since their death has revolved around studying, reading books, teaching children, and meeting their parents.
Merry senses that he has made her uncomfortable. He starts talking about the band members and how they grew up together in Roswyn to allow her time to relax. She laughs and relaxes as he describes the fun and mischief they got into during their early years. Before long the meal is over and Merry asks if she would like to dance with him. She nods yes and he takes her hand and leads her to the dance floor.
The elaborate meal is over, so is the band's break. The band performs several of their most popular hits and the guests gather round singing and dancing along with the band. Flame and Flash begin one of their choreographed duets, and the energetic crowd responds enthusiastically.
After the duet Flame picks up her guitar and softly strums as she humbly thanks the King and Queen for allowing them to celebrate Adam's joyous homecoming. She thanks the audience for the warm welcome home. "I hope to see each of you wandering around town over the next few weeks. We plan on being here for a month or so working on some new music for the next album and tour. As you know my stage name is Flame but my friends call me Alexis."
Flash strums his guitar softly as Flame makes his introduction. " Flash is my singing partner. He grew up here as well and is better known to many of you as Vince." Several of the audience members whistle and clap loudly, sighing at Flash's good looks hoping to catch his eye while they are in town.
Ash strikes a pose just as Flame makes his introduction. "Ash, otherwise known as the jester as well as Glen."
Keeping a slow, soft rhythm with his drums, Fury acknowledges the introduction with a flourish. "Fury grew up here with all of us and is better known as Dean. He and Merry kept us all on our toes with their mischief." She grins over at Merry who is grinning back.
"On keyboard and vocals is Jet, known in the neighborhood as Melanie. We have a few more songs for you to enjoy before calling it a night."
After dancing a few more times Prince Merry notices that Grace is looking flushed and warm. "Are you ok?"
"I'm feeling a bit hot."
"Let me walk you to the alcove and see if there is a breeze."
They walk to the alcove and it is much cooler with a lovely breeze blowing in from the ocean. "Thank you, you should go back inside and enjoy the music. I'll be fine out here."
"I can hear the music just fine. I'd rather be with you if that's ok?"
Grace smiles shyly. "Yes, are you sure?"
"Absolutely!" Merry escorts her to the bench, and they sit down and chat. Merry realizes Grace does not know just how beautiful and alluring she is. She is not at all like others that he has dated. He doesn't understand why he feels so strongly about Grace, but he also knows he cannot flirt and carry on with her like he would other women. She is as skittish as a kitten in a room full of dogs. He makes a decision to stop the flirting and treat her as a friend. They discuss many subjects as they sit in the alcove and Merry finds that he is not the least bit bored with Charlotte's company. She is very intelligent and is not afraid to speak her mind and differ with him on opinions. He loves that she does not defer to him because of his parentage.
He hears Flame call out the last song. "Time to cuddle up with your partner." They play a long intro to give everyone time to return to the dance floor.
He asks Charlotte if she would dance the last dance with him. She takes his hand and nods happily. As they walk together hand in hand back to the dance floor, she is thinking to herself.
'What a wonderful night this turned out to be. As much as I didn't want to come, I'm very happy Daria pushed me into agreeing. I will treasure the memory of the perfect ball and a handsome and attentive young man dancing with me and making the night special.
Back inside one young couple had been dancing the previous song in each other's arms. They seemed to forget that everyone could see the obvious change in their relationship. They only had eyes for each other.
Nickolas spots his daughter and Kaifindar dancing cheek to cheek. With a thunderous look, he starts to move across the dance floor. Anastasia grabs his shoulder holding him back. "Don't you dare charge across the floor without thinking this through. They are in full company of a room full of people and are doing nothing wrong. They've known each other since they were in diapers and this is the first time I bet either have felt anything remotely romantic about each other. You will embarrass your daughter and I won't let you do that. You would regret it, but once done it cannot be undone."
Nickolas takes a couple of deep breaths. "I had hoped she would not be interested in boys for another 20 or 30 years." He takes another few deep breaths. "I guess you need to have that talk with her. Thank you for stopping me from making a fool out of myself. Briana would hate me more than she already does."
Anastasia hugs him and laughs softly. "Sweetie, she doesn't hate you. She's is asserting her need for independence which you are doing your best to stop. You two are like oil and water right now. It will all work out. Besides, I had that talk with her and Bran two years ago. I will give her a refresher though if it makes you feel better. Let's go dance, and don't dance us next to them so you can glare at poor Kaifindar."

I like that Merry didn't instantly reply to her, "I'm a member of the royal family and yada yada," but spoke more casually. It shows how humble he is.
Now the truth comes out.

Yeah, Merry would be happy not telling anyone he is part of the royal family but he is. He's had to learn that some will be awestruck and others matter of fact about it and treat him normal and others are users.
I tried to have everyone sitting kinda like a fancy party would, boy-girl and with Adam and Sam sitting next to Queen Naida and Alice and Emma next to the King. I couldn't exactly do it because the table was too small to add two more chairs. I don't like mooing tables! But, I didn't want empty space either, so I plunked the Willowisps down at the Kings table.
The band was fun to figure out. I actually downloaded some poses but never had to use them. It's all EA animations. I did most of the figuring out thank goodness when I had the band test the stage so no lag during that. I had the band members jam and play together rather than attempt to play as a band. When I needed Flame to sing I used her singing career and assigned her a song to sing. It was truly good luck that when I needed Flame and Flash (he had singer career also) singing together I assigned them the same song and they actually synchronized. I was a happy camper! The only hitch is they always wanted to leave the stage and go out in the audience to sing. I had to moo them back on the stage.
Isn't Vince so cute! I'm gonna have to play him too eventually.
I think they all look sexy in their rocker personas. I tried to make them different from their everyday look. I think Melanie is the only one that has the same hair. It just suits her so well.
I'm glad I'm getting better at capturing feelings. It means a lot coming from you. You do an awesome job! I need to work on being more descriptive.
I actually was looking at the picture of Briana and Kaifindar and was just gonna show them dancing close. Then I thought if I had looked at a boy that way that young, my Daddy would have had a fit. So, it got put in the story.

It was tempting to have him become the heir, but that would take the story in another direction from what I originally visioned and I couldn't see Adam wanting that life.

Adam's Quest
The ball ended in the early hours of the morning and everyone said it was one of the most successful balls in many years. The families slept late and luckily the toddlers didn't wake anyone too early. After a delicious brunch, the suitcases were taken outside to be sent ahead through the portal by the castle staff. One by one they gathered in front of the inn still talking about the ball, the music, the band, and how much fun they all had. Nickolas catches up to Briana and casually asks her if she enjoyed the ball.
"Yes, it was actually quite fun even with all the stuffy protocol stuff we had to do. I'm glad you taught me how to waltz so I didn't embarrass myself. Kaifindar thought I was the most graceful fairy he has danced with."
Nickolas laughs and teases her. "So, I do have some good ideas sometimes, like teaching you to waltz and learning the royal protocol."
Briana giggles and teases back. "Yep, Dad's are apparently good for some things." Seeing her Dad relaxed and smiling she decides to remind him about driving lessons. "Speaking of good things, can we start driving lessons soon? I've kept my grades up and my chores get done and I passed the written test with flying colors."
Nickolas sighs softly, realizing his little girl is growing up and he must help her on her path whether he likes it or not. "I'd say it is time for you and Bran to learn to drive. We've got that little car in the garage and I'll get it tuned up and we can start with lessons. Sound like a good plan?"
"Perfect! Thanks, Dad!" He puts his arm over her shoulder and they find Bran and give him the good news. Anastasia is watching the encounter with an approving smile. She knows how hard this is for Nickolas to let go of another daughter.
They walk the short distance to the arboretum to take the portal back to Dragon Valley. Most of the royal family have come to say goodbye. They linger chatting about keeping in touch, not wanting the visit to end, but knowing it must. Finnian decides to play games with Adam and transforms into his fairy form and flits around his head teasing him. Even with Adam's quick werewolf reflexes, he is not fast enough to catch Finnian. They laugh together and Adam hugs his uncle. "Thank you for your understanding and for helping me to know my father."
Kafindar pulls Briana behind the arboretum for a private goodbye. He only has a few minutes as he is on his way to school and cannot be reported late. He holds her hands and pulls her to him hugging her tight loving how she fits perfectly next to him. He whispers, "I'm going to miss you. Will you think of me? Will you dream of me? I know I will be dreaming of you, holding you in my arms and dancing the night away." He kisses her softly and lets her go. She reaches out to him but he is already hurrying off to school. Briana watches as he runs down the path. She sighs deeply, touches her lips and whispers..."yes, I will miss you, I will be thinking of you and dreaming of you and our night together."
The children sit in a group with the baby Willow in the middle. Finissa peers down at Willow. "She's green! Why is she green? Did someone paint her? I painted the walls with my crayons and got into trouble. Someone's gonna be in trouble painting the baby."
Fillian answers as his Dad explained to him why Willow is green. "She's not painted. She's a plant baby. Dad said she is a rar...a rar...rartee. Well, it means she's special that's what he said."
Finissa giggles at Fillian. "She doesn't have wings."
Fillian shrugs. "She's not a fairy baby. She doesn't need wings."
Kailena looks at Finissa. "I don't have wings. I have claws."
Drew giggles and growls. "Rrrawr, I have big teeth."
"I think we are all special!" Kailena announces and the others nod in satisfaction.
They finally make their goodbyes and go through the portal arriving back in Dragon Valley. It is late and they are exhausted. The little ones are settled into their beds. Adam takes Alice's hands as they watch Kailena fall asleep. "It was a wonderful visit, but it sure is nice to be home."
Alice squeezes his hands. "It sure is. You have a wonderful family and I expect there will be many trips in the future for us both to Midnight Hollow and the Fairy Realm. It will always be great coming home."

So they are home again, finally! Seems as if especially Alice is happy to be home again!

hehe, and the next update was practically right away.
I'm going to try to do a bit more rotational play between the families now rather than month after month with one.

Yes, Alice is really a homebody surprisingly. I think she instinctively needs to be in her 'nest'
I'm enjoying the chatter with the toddlers. It's gonna get noisier in the future.
I'm not sure what will happen with Kaifindar and Briana. I"m still tossing coins or perhaps I should throw dice in my head about those two. I have several possible storylines in my head. I need to figure out which works the best. It's kinda the same with Merry and Charlotte.
I love those cc tulip fields. One of my favorite flowers and the creator did such an awesome job with so many choices for colors.
No rest for Adam! He stayed home long enough for the next update which I hope to start writing this afternoon. (a light day at work so far) I've taken most of the pictures.

Adam's Quest
The next morning, Adam wakes up hungry and hurries downstairs to fix cinnamon biscuits he is craving. It has been a while since he cooked except on the grill. He enjoys creating and experimenting, but cinnamon biscuits are perfect and no experimenting is needed.
Marshall arrives carrying Drew and sets him in the high chair. He fixes a large bowl of oatmeal with blueberries. Drew pushes his Dad away indicating he will feed himself. Marshall turns, watching Adam obviously enjoying preparing breakfast. "Smells good. With everyone else knowing how to cook, I've never felt the desire to learn."
"These are easy if you want to start with something fundamental."
"I really would rather not cook it myself," laughs Marshall.
Alice awakens feeling absolutely miserable. She hurries to the bathroom barely making it in time. She wonders if she is pregnant. This is certainly the first symptom she experienced previously. She brushes her teeth, washes her face, and takes a quick shower. She is already feeling better. "I'm pregnant," she sings joyously to the mirror.
Jennifer is feeling a little bit off this morning too. She hurries to the bathroom, but her nausea eases before she gets sick. She finishes getting ready for the day and walks over to the main house. Alice is coming down the staircase, and she whispers to her. "I think I might be pregnant. Can you check?"
Alice has improved in her abilities as a witch over time and is able to sense that Jennifer is pregnant. "Yes, you are. I am pregnant too," she exclaims happily.
Jennifer nods thoughtfully. "We were not planning this to happen so soon. Well, this way the kids will grow up together."
Alice hugs her best friend. "It will work out. Marshall is an awesome Dad and loves being home with Drew. He will be in heaven looking after another one. I'm not telling Adam yet. I know he is arranging his trip to retrieve his mother's remains. I don't want to delay the trip by telling him. It is not like I'm having the baby in a few days. He will be back before the baby is born." She grins up at Jennifer.
"I will not inform Marshall either. I'm certain he is planning on going with Adam. I can't see him allowing Adam to do this alone. It is rogue werewolf territory he will be traveling in."
Dedric and Wisteria work together getting their little ones ready for the day. "I'm hoping the gardener we hired took good care of the garden while we were gone." Dedric tickles Fillian as he chats with Wisteria.
"He had a very good reference from Anastasia, so I certainly hope so too. We will find out after breakfast. Adam wants us to have a breakfast meeting this morning." Wisteria plays with Willow and loves hearing that baby coo and laugh as she tosses her gently and makes faces at her.
They enjoy a delicious breakfast together, and Adam tells them about his plans for his trip while they eat. "I will be traveling through rogue werewolf country so I'm sorry, but I feel it is safer to travel alone. I cannot risk taking anyone with me." Adam is surprised that Alice does not immediately make any protests to his statement. The protest comes from another, and Adam is taken aback.
Marshall pushes back his plate and stares at Adam. "You are not going alone! Either I go with you or call Victor and he will track you and probably smack you around for being stubborn and not taking me with you. For that matter, I can track you and smack you around myself. No matter how strong you are you cannot take on a pack of rogue wolves yourself if you are caught. Do you want to risk Alice's life as well as your own? You need someone at your back, and it cannot be Dedric as they will smell his fairy scent once he enters their territory. You don't smell of fairy, despite your genetics. Fortunately, your wolf overpowers your fairy genes. If they are hunting, they may sense us. We must push to get there before the next full moon."
Adam is surprised by the passion and anger in Marshall's voice. "I admit I had not thought about being caught. I don't plan to be caught. I'm reasonably confident I remember exactly where to go even though I was a young kid at the time. It was on the outskirts of the territory that the rogues claim and a good distance away from where the pack camped. I will be able to track it once I am close enough. I don't want to risk Alice's life, but I also don't want to risk your life, Marshall."
Jennifer looks over at Alice nodding and smiling at how well they undoubtedly know their men. "Adam, I agree with Marshall. We are all hoping it will be a quick trip with no problems. People travel in that area all the time and it is rare when something happens these days. You need backup, though.
Alice looks over at Adam as she takes the empty plates to the kitchen to be cleaned later. "I agree with Marshall and Jennifer. You need backup. You cannot go it alone. You two are stronger together than a pack of rogues, and you know it."
Dedric nods in agreement. "I vote Marshall goes with you. We agreed a long time ago when we moved together and bought the property together we would vote over important issues and the majority would rule. I think this is one of those times Adam."
All eyes turn to Wisteria. She loves this family they have become but is still a bit nervous speaking up. She looks over at Adam who smiles reassuringly at her and nods as if to say 'go-ahead'. "This is one of our first important votes since we purchased the property. I appreciate your concerns and reasons Adam, but I have to agree with the others. You need someone with you. I've watched you and Marshall spar and it would be hard for anyone to defeat the two of you. I vote Marshall goes with you. If we could somehow mask Dedric's fairy scent I would vote he goes as well. He has some spells that would come in handy if you two did have to fight. Is there any way to do that Alice?"
Alice has returned to the table and looks puzzled as well as thoughtful. "That is a very intriguing idea Wisteria. There is nothing that I know of at this time, but it is something I can try to discover in the archives for the future or develop myself. It could be immensely helpful in protecting any occult needing to travel in unfamiliar territory. There are still those who want to capture a fairy, genie, or other occult for their own nefarious purposes. I will definitely research this idea."
"I guess I've been overruled by the majority," Adam, sighs accepting the decision of the group. "Marshall will go with me. My plan was to leave in the morning. Is that ok with you? Is there anything you have going on that will delay us leaving?
"Nope, that will work," Marshall replies after looking over at Jennifer to see if she agrees.
Adam stands up. "Ok, one more thing to do before you go about the rest of the morning. I know everyone has things to do to catch up on since we were gone. Please form a circle. Marshall, you have the bag?
Marshall nods and they form a circle realizing what is up. Marshall has Alice, Jennifer, Dedric, and Wisteria draw straws out of a sack. Jennifer holds a blue straw. Wisteria pulls out a yellow one. Alice and Dedric each have green straws They are the next to get dragons. (I didn't share in the story, but Marshall got his a while back.)
Marshall collects the straws. "Jennifer and Wisteria will get dragons when we return from this trip. Dedric and Alice please join us in the nesting room this afternoon at 2 pm."
Adam uses the old maps to show Marshall where he thinks they need to go. "It will take a few days to get there, but coming home should be faster. I guess we should be home in three to five days.
While waiting for Dedric and Alice, Marshall chats with his purple dragon Amanth while Adam feeds what looks like a giant bug to Tymenth. They place them on the ground to run around and the purple dragon happily sends out sparkles.
