I lost my Sims 4 cc

Recently The Sims 4 was updated, and I lost all of my downloaded cc that took so long for me to get! I ended up deleting it all because I didn't understand how to get it back but when I tried to download new cc it still isn't in my game. How can I get it back?

There is a new feature that when there is a game update, mods/cc are disabled. This link explains about it,

Go to options and tick the " enable custom content and mods" button which is found in :
Options | Other | Enable Custom Content and Mods. Exit the game.

Do you still have your cc that you deleted in your recycle bin? You may be able to recover it from there and put it back into your mods folder to use after renabling the cc/mods.

I have the same problem but I have all of my cc in a folder so how will I be able to get it back after I have enabled cc and mods??

Once you enable it again and restart the game, it will all be available to you again, except items that are no longer game-compatible.

i hate to post in here it its closed but im having a similar problem with mods not showing, and my options > other doesnt even show an "enable mods" option. Ive tried many other fixes. can anyone help?

I will post here what I posted on the other thread,
Right click the sims 4 picture and click " check for updates" and see if there is an update for the game.

When you launch the game, on the main screen, what does it say that your game version is?

When I Updated My game They Were All Just Gone. Not in The Trash Or Anything, The Whole Mods File Was GONE.
Can You Help? :) It Would Mean A lot To Get them Back, I Spent 7 Months Trying to Get Them...

Hello @SimplyGlittery . Is there nothing in your mods folder? Do you have a mods folder now, that is empty except for the resource.cfg file? I am so sorry that you have lost your mods folder.

You may need to redownload the mods/cc.

OK the same problem has happened to me but I had to update my game a few days ago so im not sure if its the same update. I had tons of great cc and when I opened the game nothing was there, and this was a few days after the update. I went to my file explorer and went to Documents>Electronic Arts>Sims 4>Mods...and everything was there? So I went into my game to see if it had UN-ticked cc and mods it didint? But just for measures I clicked on it to disable then enabled it, exit the game and reloaded and yet still no notification on the screen saying what cc I have in the game and it was still a new game :( Please please please! tell me how to fix this!:( Thanks

Hello @Piefacex .
Move your mods folder to the desktop. Start the game , and a new mods folder will be generated. Go to game options and check that " enable custom content and mods " box is ticked. Exit the game. Then put your mods/CC back from the old mods folder on your desktop into the newly generated mods folder in the sims 4 folder. Make sure that there is only one resource.cfg file in the mods folder.
Then start the game and see if your mods/cc appear.

Rosemow, I moved my mods folder to my desktop then started the game, then went to check my electronic arts to see if there was a new mods folder and there was no newly generated mods folder? I did check to see if "enable custom content and mods" was enabled and it was. Please could you tell me how to fix this also:)

On the same page where you enable Mods, do you see a View Custom Content button below the 2 checkboxes? I'm thinking maybe somehow your in-game "show me" box may have gotten unchecked, which would make them not show up on your way into the game. If you use the pushbutton from the Options page, you can re-check the box to make that window start open again.

(IF this is the issue. Just a thought I had!)

Hello @Piefacex . Move your mods folder from the desktop and place it back into the Sims 4 folder. Then start the game, and see if your mods/cc appear.

Some of the cc may have been broken because of the latest patches. Try going back to the sites where you downloaded the cc from and see if other simmers are having the same issue as you are experiencing.

What worked?

If you found anything broken in your cc, I'd *love* to know what they were. Just the mod name (or creator name), I can dig it up from there.

Also, couple of cc hints for you... Sims4Studios Creator Studios have TONS of cool cc (and tutorials on everything under the sun about creating, if you're interested in that sort of thing...), and here in these forums is a WCIF thread you might want to browse through for other ideas. Bananas_45 is amazing at finding stuff.

Hello I ve had something of a similar problem, but its kinda more complex. So my Origin account wouldnt load in so I looked it up on internet how to solve it and found a solution by erasing all of my chache from Origin. After I went back to log in it worked prefectly, but when I logged in my Sims 4 I realised all of my CC from mods folder has been erased. I ve tryed looking for it in my trash bin since all of the chache ended up there, but I couldnt find it anywhere. Does anyone know of a way to get my CC back or is there no way back and its lost forever? Any help is appriciated!
