Which Expansion pack should I get next?
I currently have Seasons, Pets, and Late Night

-Generations
-Ambitions
-University Life
-Island Paradise
-World Adventures

I'm looking to having a "realistic" simming approach.... which is why Supernatural isn't on my list.

I would suggest Generations. It adds lots of stuff and specially interactions that make playing families more fun and interesting.

It adds Imaginary Friends that you might not like since you want realism, but all these 5 expansions add one life state (Simbots on Ambitions, Mermaids on IP, Plantsim on UL and Mummies on WA).

Ambitions is nice too, but the active jobs are better if play with few or a solo sim. Managing the jobs while controlling a huge family can get tiresome.

Generations add a lot to the different generations, and if you enjoy playing families, I strongly recommend this one. I also really loved Ambitions, because it added the Self-Employment option to the game, and also added some new careers where you can go to work with your sim.

I'll give you a link to a good site that really gets into the different packs of the game.

I will say one last thing, Island Paradise is a nice pack, but don't expect to play the world that comes with it, it has the worst lag EVER. It has a ton of routing issues that is a huge pain in the neck.

I’d probably make my own vacation island then

That my next will be Generations, Ambitions after, then Showtime to go with LN, and finally IP will be last. As far as SPs, if I catch Town Life Stuff and Outdoor Living at a decent price somewhere I will get them. Otherwise, I'll keep an eye out for great CC recommendations (Which you may post here if you know any: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/961760/cc-recommendations#latest)
