So, I didn't know how to use the cameras before, so I just kind of ignored them, but lately, I've been getting into sim photography, both family photos and taking artistic shots of scenery and objects. I never expected to enjoy it as much as I do. I'm surprisingly sentimental about it, as each photo has a memory attached to it (like literally, not just a programmable memory, LOL). Plus, my one sim's apartment is decorated with her (my) artistic photos, so it makes it seem much more like a home.
What does sim photography mean to you? Are you sentimental about it, or is it just another skill? Here are a few of the photos around my sim's apartment:

Today I played in a home I downloaded and realized the pictures on the wall were player made... landscapes and still lifes. I was very impressed with how clear and good they looked.
I plan on pursuing photography at this point with one or more of my sims.

I started to dabble with the photography skill when I made Little Wolf as my JA adventurer. He was a taking a lot of nature photos in Salvadorada. I haven't rotated to him for a bit and haven't used the skill since.
@QueenofMyshuno those are great artistic style photos!
But, if the photos actually last in TS4 maybe I’ll get back into it.

Would they keep if you uploaded their house to your library or the gallery?
I have only done bits with photography, and generally only pics of sims. I actually started last night to do a few scenery shots with a sim - I play rotationally and like to have different households learning different things. The only trouble with this is that when you rotate away from the photography sim it may be a while before you go back to them.
Yes. I've uploaded houses to the gallery with him pictures twice before. I love your idea of different households learning different things.
I've done this 2 and totally forgotten to take them down or move them - I've also had photos of sims who've moved out stuck in my household and I cant just pluck them off the wall etc (heart-breaking)

But I have a third gen family that has a lot of kids and stuff, and when I look through my screenshots folder for my simlit and I see old photos taken by cellphones, I do feel sentimental! It's so cool to see this long history I've had with these people and it makes me happy.
I never maxed out the TS4 photography skill, will it actually open up anything new except perhaps the photos being more valuable for selling? In TS4 I feel that my sims can just buy a good camera and take good photos. They probably get more blurry and gnome infected but with 5 pics per take, there will be plenty of good enough photos with low skills. Maybe that's why I hardly had anyone build the skill (only one sim working as a photographer).
