Hi,
I've been having trouble moonlighting as a mixologist. I CAN do it- the option is there, and the bar tender lets me. But as soon as my sim stands at the bar she teleports away from the bar and the action is cancelled. Ive tried deleting and replacing the bar but this keeps happening over and over. Is this some sort of glitch? I have searched before posting and it looks like i'm not the only one experiencing this but I am having trouble finding a solution.
Anyone know?

I read this thread (that was for the wrong game so nevermind).
Crinrict has some info and the solution you have already tried:
https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2013/06/professional-bars-dont-work.html
Some other solutions:
https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/06/bug-sims-reset-jump-out-of-actions.html
Perhaps also the sim need a reset?
in cheat menu (ctrl+shift+c) type in:
resetsim (firstname lastname)
- then exit with enter.
And an 'EA standard hard reset' by Twallan:
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=jrp0f5rd3k2egpjvc1ak4vgfv0&topic=8695.msg174915#msg174915
It would be very interesting to hear what @igazor think about that last one, since I thought that the cheat moveobject should not be used on sims, as well as deleting them. Maybe it is the combination that does it - explode it and then pick up the pieces from outer space
I found nothing in the patch descriptions if it were fixed:
https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/The_Sims_3/Patch
And not much on what it means when the game resets. Maybe it is important what happened just before. I hope someone else has an explanation.
This was maybe more info than you wanted but I found it interesting.
But this also sounds like a variant of the pizza bar bug to me. If any sim in the world suddenly wants to order a pizza from the bar in question, any sim using the bar or having the bar in their action queue in any way gets reset and/or the game crashes.
The current versions of NRaas Overwatch and ErrorTrap should take care of both types of glitches silently, for those not averse to using mods.
@Auroraskies - Your first link is to a thread discussing a bar glitch on TS4 very soon after the game's initial release.
On the Twallan one that you were asking about, that's a different kind of issue altogether and it's not bar glitches that were being reported. I would never "hard reset" a sim quite that way unless everything else I could possibly think of to fix a seemingly uncooperative active sim had failed.

And yes, it is another issue, but it seemed similar in nature. Good to know about the hard-reset though.
Edit: But do you have an explanation for the reset of the game that crinrict mentions, @igazor?
Patch 1.55 was the one that was released alongside of the Island Paradise EP. It allowed for the EP to include resort bars. As a side-effect, even for those who do not have the EP, it broke all LN pro bars that existed prior to the patch having been released. And the glitch can be fixed either by replacing the individual bar objects, meaning the surface objects not the entire building, or by having the current version of NRaas Overwatch (v122 released in the summer of 2016) in place. It affected all worlds and lots designed before the patch was out -- so this would be all of Bridgeport for example, but also any other earlier designed lots from any source including ones the player themselves had designed.
The suggestions to reset the world and its sims in various ways will not fix this, if this is the source of the OP's problem. Those might be more helpful in other circumstances.

"My Sim wants to do some interaction but shortly after he stands behind/in front of the object without doing the action"
And:
"A reset order was either given manually or by the game. This can happen if the game errors out. Depending on when the reset happens they can have more or less severe consequences"
This appearantly being a problem in sims 4 as well.
So my question, in relation to the OP:s problem, is what is causing the game to reset, and what are these consequences? Oh, and thanks for answering, I find this very interesting.

I have read, somewhere, that that particular problem can be a sign of hardware failure, does that have some truth to it?
And would it be possible for a layman to understand the error scripts from Errortrap, if I wanted to install it just to have a peak, so to speak?
(I do not have these symptoms/problems in my game, that I am aware of).
Edit: and I am not derailing the thread, the OP did ask what this glitch was.. not that anyone said so, sorry about my swedish syntax.
We are happy to help interpret ErrorTrap or other NRaas script logs at NRaas. It is a service we provide through our message boards for anyone who cares to take advantage of it. We also offer this page for those who would like to learn more about what these logs say. This is the Wayback Machine archived version; I'm sure the real one is on our site someplace, but it's one of those documentation pages that got damaged or became orphaned from the rest of the site when we moved and still needs to be fixed up.
