Game Issue Since Patch (Resolved)

So, I've been having an issue with my game since I updated to the latest patch.

I can't load or start any new save files. I get a pop-up message (seen below)

What I've done so far is reset the Sims 4 folder and it works then but when I add my saves file back in I get an error (again, seen below). I don't have mods enabled in game again yet so it's not that causing the issue and even if it was then I should be able to at least start a new save file.

Things I've done:

Reset Sims 4 Folder
Put Everything but the saves folder in and it works fine.
Repaired Game
Clicked 'update' again to see if the update didn't download properly.
Put save files into new 'saves' folder to try and see if that works

I really don't want to lose these saves as I have put thousands of hours of gametime into them (and some are actually really important for my storytelling with the game).

If you can access the loads menu from the main screen, try recovering an earlier version of your current save game to play and see if you load that game. To do that , go to the main screen of sims 4, and click on the " load game " button.Click on your save game file picture. Then click on the " recover game " button down the right hand side bottom of the screen,. Press on an earlier version of the save game from the menu that pops up. Then load that save game version

@rosemow Unfortunately, that didn't work. It sent me back to the main menu.

Do you still have the issues if your old saves folder is in the Sims 4 folder, but your mods folder isn’t in the Sims 4 folder?.

I don't have mods enabled so I don't think that would affect the game. But I can try. I'm willing to try most things at this point.

Patches are a dangerous animal. They fix certain things and break other things. After the patch I have been knocked back to desktop a few times. Sorry to hear of your issue I hope it gets solved for you.

If you haven’t already done this, try moving your sims 4 folder to the desktop. Then load the game, start a new save game and see if the issues remain. Exit the game.
If the issues are not there, put in each of the saves, tray, mods folders separately to test when the issues return. If it occurs when only the saves folder is in the sims 4 folder, you may need to test each separate save game to see which is causing the issues.

I think I fixed it.

Somehow, the update screwed with my mods folder. I have a backup from my last batch fix with S4S which I've put in and it's running fine so far! Next time, I'm taking the 'remove your mods folder' warning seriously!

I have this grayed screen issue. I read the Exception text and in all of that it mentioned Olympus GUIComponent and also an error 1006. WHEN are they going to fix this mess? And before you say anything, I've done everything i.e., repaired game, cleared cache, and I have no mods (some CC but no mods).

Although you don’t have mods, you do have cc , which can also also cause issues. It would be good to move your whole mods folder to the desktop, then start the game and test to see if the issue remains.

If the issue remains, try recovering an earlier version of your current save game to play and see if that also has issues.. To do that , go to the main screen of sims 4, and click on the " load game " button.Click on your save game file picture. Then click on the " recover game " button down the right hand side bottom of the screen,. Press on an earlier version of the save game from the menu that pops up. Then load that save game version
