I've looked at the frame rate of my sims game on my new laptop and it is 200 fps. I've tried turning on verical sync in nvidia control panel and nvidia inspector but the frame rate is still over 200. Could I have done something wrong, could it have something to do with me setting up my game to recognize my graphics card?
You've posted this in the Sims 4 Tech section but it will probably be moved.
Nvidia Inspector: Under Sync and Refresh along with Vertical Sync, try these settings:
Triple Buffering > on
Frame Rate Limiter > 60 fps or 60.7 is fine too *This number should reflect your own refresh rate. 60 is the average refresh rate but double check yours.
If both tools aren't working, try RTSS Rivetuner. You will need to keep RTSS Rivetuner open in the background when you play the game in order for it to work. You can also set this to start up with Windows. Set frame rate to your refresh rate (60) application level medium. I've never used it before but you should be able to look up how to use it via Google search.
If that's still not working... my next suggestion is to do a clean driver install.
Download the latest driver for your card from the laptop manufacturer's website.
Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely wipe the current installed driver.
Run the program in safe mode as recommended on the site
Choose NVIDIA & Clean and restart
Install the new driver you downloaded from the laptop manufacturer's website.
