I feel the same. Never had as much packs as this time around, so I don't want to start all over again too soon. Through it has to come to an end someday and hopefully the game will improve with it's 5th installment. But not too soon!

The question is what do you think, not what do you hope. I think they'll celebrate its 10th anniversary. I hope not.

Considering that they are doing 1 EP a year and some people are still waiting for Seasons, University, Generations, and other EPs I do not see it ending in a few years. Also, they've stated to stop working on Sims 4 when there is nothing else to add.

2020 makes a lot of sense, but personally I'm hoping for 2019 so a new, hopefully better, sims game is being worked on sooner. But maybe sims 4 will surprise me while it lasts

I would say around 2020. It usually lasts for 4-5 years so probably around 2019 or 2020 would be a good mark.

Gee, I wonder how The Sims 5 will look if they ever decide to make one.

2020 seems realistic but they also hinted that it may have longer run then usual.

But think of how many packs we would have by 2020 if they continue the same pattern they are going at now.

I think 2020 at the latest. 2019 at the earliest.

Late 2019 or 2020 will be the end of Sims 4. It's probably not going further because that's where making a Sims 5 might become more profitable than developing new packs for this.

I am thinking 2024 because of the one expansion pack a year. I toyed with beyond 2025 because they have also added the game to console. They are still behind in making all the current content available to the console players.

2020 would be a good year for the Sims 5 to come out, to mark the 20th Anniversary of the original sims game.

Sadly not until 2020 or 2021 or somewhere around there. Which means by that time the game will be a rats-nest of bugs and errors
My speculations on hints for future content:
    -Cars Update
    -Spiral/Diagonal Stairs Update
    -Hotel Pack
-Romance Pack (possibly combined with Hotel Pack)
    -Bands Pack
    -Royalty Pack
    -Fashion Design Pack
    -Fairies Pack
    -Werewolf Pack
    -France-inspired World

TS3 didn’t end in 2013. The store released plenty of new content in 2014.

They are never making a generations EP with Parenthood released, for sure. I can see TS4 getting two more EP max. It's probably end in either a GP or a few SP's.

    Beyond 2025
I voted beyond 2025 because the thought of this forum then amuses me greatly. :D

I want it to go as long as the devs want to and are able to keep working on it. I'm sure Sims 3 players would say that game ended 'too early' for whatever arbitrary reason, and I wouldn't want Sims 4 to end just because of something arbitrary like the franchise anniversary. The gurus have said they expect it to go longer than previous versions, and not to take past release patterns as current ways to predict things, so I'm hoping for that.
Live, laugh and love. Life's too short not to.

Unlikely that EA would draw the game out for more than 6-7 years. Definitely not over 10.

Going longer than previous installments could be as little as a year. A 2020 end for Sims 4 would be 7, which is 2 longer than Sims 3. Regardless, those plans are all determinant on the game continuing to be profitable. As any product ages it becomes less profitable, it’s just the reality of the product life cycle. With the price increases across several countries on Sims titles it will be interesting to see if that does pose a potential decline in sales.

Which would mean Sims 4 could go on forever we hardly got anything its taking multiple packs to get what we got in one expansion in the past. Nightlife for example Sims 4 it has taken Vampires > Dine Out > Bowling Night > City Living(Downtown) and we are still missing cars and romance which will now will be sold separately if we get either at all. Sims 4 could last forever if we are waiting for there to be nothing else to add or even just the basics.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

I was going to vote 2020 but idk...I feel like there's room for more expansion packs (if they stick to the yearly schedule). This is just a random guess, but I personally hope Sims 4 will carry past 2020

I think 2020. That leaves 2-3 more major EPs (one per year) plus whatever GPs and SPs they come up with. I don't think many of our computers could support more packs than that anyway.
