I have a Mac. I can't click and drag the screen with my mousepad. I can only rotate the screen and zoom in and out. I have to use the arrow keys to move left, right, up, and down. This only happens every once in a while. I've had the game since June and this started in like August.

My current logitech mouse that I use for my laptop, which I only use for the general use; I use my desktop for games - my desktop's mouse is a Logitech G300s. My mouse for my laptop is around... Two years old now if I am not mistaken and it is still going strong. My last mouse before my laptop mouse was another Logitech and lasted around... I cannot quite remember, but I believe it was around eight years.

Colton147147 is correct. A mouse is recommended for game play with Sims 4. Logitech does make the best mice and I highly recommend them for use with your laptop.

Do you have Edge scrolling enabled? And Sims 3 camera controls?
I prefer using my trackpad as I'm so used to it and can do everything a mouse can. I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts too, it's just personal preference
None of you guys are helping me I REALLY need help.... I am not able to drag my screen. I cannot afford to buy a mouse. HELP
Most any mouse will work with a Mac so you do not need to buy the one made by Apple. I usually buy Logitech mice which work wonderfully for me and last me several years.

Hey! I don't know if you're still having this problem, but I was as well when I found your question, and I found turning off "The Sims 3 Camera" under Game Camera in settings fixed it for me, but the only difference is my trackpad camera rotation wasn't working either. I hope it works for you!

It doesn't have to be a gaming mouse; you can simply get a normal mouse.

I do recommend Logitech mice, since they do last a very long time...
