When It Still Doesn't Work :'(

Since yesterday, I have done a game repair and a game refresh. I've played with and without mods and still my Sim isn't notified of his work coming up. I have even changed out the saves folder for the post-patch save. (Can't believe I forgot to save before this patch.) I'm at my wits' end. I'm going to do another Game Folder Refresh and it's likely I'll start a brand new game if that doesn't fix the problem. That takes work to get all six families moved, but if it will free up the Acting Career so that my Sim can get to the studio, live, as opposed to a Rabbit hole, it will be worth it. (And to think I had such high hopes for today. It's after one, here, my day is fast slipping away. HELP.

Please, if anyone knows of a better way to fix this, let me know. So far MCCC has been deemed compatible. I've not yet heard about Road to Fame, but I won't play without it since doing so and then saving obliterates Erik's progress. He now has 21 albums released, plus the 7 songs he's written. He's currently working on song 8. I will definitely upload this Erik so that his family won't just go away. Then I'll have to visit each of the other five households to upload them to My Library to keep them intact. I can go around and restore their relationships via MCCC. I would really like to not have the hassle of this, but I don't wish to go back to Uni and start them all off yet a third time.
