Star Wars: Control panel slicing

Hi guys, it's been awhile since I was last on here.
Anyways, I have a question to ask. How long should it take to slice a control panel in the First Order distict of Batuu on PS4? I had tried to disruped the First Order communications by doing so. I have had my sim there for what seems like days in the game. But it seems like all my sim gets to do is practice slicing the control panel.

you have to scan it first to get the right option (the one with a green thumb up), also for communications you gotta go to the comm tower.
if it's a bug I'd try canceling the mission and than starting/acceppting it again.

I did scan it first, and I still didn't get the green thumb to slice the control panel. All my sims get is practice slicing the thing. I did cancel that mission. But I haven't restarted it yet.
