The best part is that gambling was in The Sims 2. You had poker tables where Sims could play, win and lose money. Several lots downtown, like Lucky Shack Cards and Drink, were dedicated to it. It was a great group activity and the animations were satisfying.

And in TS3 with Lucky Palms premium content/venue (poker, slot machines and even a dedicated gambling skill). Heck, it may even dates back in TS1 era where multiplayer was a thing, as FreeSO seem to offer casino objects.

Yes sims 1 has gambling machines!

Sims 3 had i via store

I really don't understand why they insist on dragging the game for so long. It already feels outdated compared to the rest of games on the market, it's a laughing stock.

your wrong the sims4 is not outdated the outated games are the sims 1 sims2 and sims3 sims4 is far from being outdated

The Sims 3 looks less outdated than 4. Yes the game have problems but nowadays an open world game is much more common than whatever plum TS4 is

I hope this question isn't rude, but do you play other video games? If you played newer games, you may understand why Sims 4 seems outdated. But it was outdated when it was released. IIRC, the original specs were for a 2004 gaming computer. This was a two-fold problem; it didn't run on modern non-gaming laptops because gaming PCs have dedicated graphics cards and usually more memory and stronger CPUs, yet people buying it thought it would run on weak hardware. The other problem was that people generally upgrade a gaming PC more often than every 10 years, so many of the people who had the hardware to run the game well could have handled a more demanding game. Had the game been designed for modern systems to begin with, it would have most likely had a much stronger foundation.

I loved taking my sims to the casino and building their gambling skill. If you have the gold version of Lucky Palms you can get for free, from the store the black jack and roulette tables. You can really make sims have the time of their lives with it. I always change the bars to professional ones since they spawn bartenders, it's pretty cool!

I won't rule the possibility of TS4 getting it but yeah it's pretty thin.

Ts3 has a casino venue, has blackjack, poker and roulette tables (group activities), plus slot machines and poker machines. Your sims can also buy lottery tickets. And TS3 is rated T for Teens. I don't know why the dev said they can't add them to TS4?

Yes, Sims 3 may be the older version but it had features that made it more advanced than Sims 4.

I agree. Even sims 1 had gambling. Grant said no because “We are T for Teen” and he said it was a very passive activity.

Yes, Sims 3 may be the older version but it had features that made it more advanced than Sims 4.

I so agree with both of you, Sims 3 was very much ahead of it's time. But I'm glad the computers nowadays has caught up with it. I also think Sims 2 was pretty amazing as well with it's finer detail in mechanics and processes. I still want the best of TS3 and TS2 to be the basis for TS5 because their features are what makes for customer loyalty and sales appeal longevity.

The lack of so much in TS4 is what makes it last in the line up. I loved TS1 as well even though it was much harder to level up work and build relationships, but it actually had more meaningful gameplay then TS4. I really hope EAxis will do a more modern version of TS1's Superstar EP for TS5 including the minigames and all the maps/lots (except allow sims to live there instead of just visit). TS1 just plain worked too! It had very few bugs in comparison to TS4.

I really hope that they do a good job on TS5, and that they are actually a lot further in it's development than we think. I pretty much gave up on the idea that they will fix TS4 - all these years, they haven't fixed its major problems, but just keep adding stuff to it (oftentimes adding even more bugs).

In sims 3 the features were better. You had so many creative outlets to choose from. Building, decorating, telling stories, creating sims, creating mods and CC, creating machinima, and world building. Or you could just play. In sims 4 there is no world building. You can flip a town, but that is not the same thing. It is a shame that it got left out. We lost some very good world builders in the process because they were unable to shine. Does anyone make machinima for sims 4? I just see Lets Plays and challenges. Yes, the sims 4 is prettier. They have a better build/buy system and CAS. The toddlers are better, but the babies are chained to the crib and are nothing more then objects. Vampires are very good, despite their bugs. But unfortunately the game is hollow. You have no consequences, etc.

In sims 1 I had a slot machine in one of the bedrooms. My sims loved it. Greedy little things.

Every time I look at that new game cover I’m convinced they’re targeting the 12-16 year old demographic.

    Looks terrible.

I'm 16 years old and I find it repulsive as hell. Don't know how could I be attracted by something so childish. Maxis don't understand that there's no need to be in this "rainbows and unicorns" vibe to attract young children. Proof, when I was around 8 I played TS2 and loved it so much.

Actually i like the game, but i am kinda Looking Forward for when they release… the last DLC and just be done with, to hopefully have a better TS5 Game, where you have AT LEAST toodlers in the Base Game...

Because i was one of those simmers, that didnt even touched or looked at this game and never visited the online community in the Sims4, just because toodlers werent in them. I even thought, that i would never Play the Sims4. So i had interest in Fall 2017 and started playing in Spring 2018.

I am just sick of that waiting game... i kinda waited for toodlers soo long to only found out that a lot more is missing… Always with the question of whats possible and whats not... Should i get my hopes up for babys or should my friend get her hopes up for cars...
I dont know... Do they even work on cars at this point? Too bad, that they can not talk about what they currently working on. And it takes them FOREVER to add stuff that the majority wants.

But when they release something, it's not … popular… I Always have the small hope, that babys get added. With every patch, with every announcement, even with every DLC.... And i am so sick of it, like i can not move on.... Sometimes i just get sick of this waiting game. Sick of Always writing the same wishes… Like my wishes wont change, just because it's a new thread, a new year, … or the 5th anniversary of the sims4.

TS4 in General? You know what, people who actually can change what is been written here, wont read this, but whateva…

How about, you actually respond to the community concerns. There is an up roar about the new Design. Its not just: mimimi ugly… i hate changes.
It affects some peoples Health and a lot of the feedback is really insightful and makes sence..... And even then, why are they ignoring the feedback, and barely mention anything? Okay to be honest and unpopluar opinion: i kinda liked kate, at least she answerd community concerns (De soll valley world size) and other stuff a lot. I even liked it, when she wrote that assey, about the alexa skill, even though it was unsatisfying. Now they are straight up silent.

I mean i have nothing against Lgbtq+ and them tryring to add stuff for them, but it's like... They forgot the LESBIAN flag, like really?! Out of all flages you forget the first letter of Lgtbq+? It sounds wierd, but they probably did this on purpose, to create an actual illusion, that they respond to feedback. That MichealGuru responded as quick as possible, that they ''will do better''.

I dont know about you guys, but i am kinda sick of them, only adding some ''nice'' cas lgbtq+ assets with no gameplay. Why can you not choose the gender prefrence, and set a Sim as gay or a lesbian or a trans… The trans update was nice and all, but how about you could see in Game the transitioning... having to take Medicine and hormone pills etc.
You know and i just downloaded the coming out mod.... Why is this even a mod for a game that represents lgbtq+ so much? I want a lgbtq+ lot traits, so only gay people are allowed and i can create a gay club....

You know while guruGraham kept talking about create a sim and story… my eyes were like wide open and i thought… omg.... can i... can i set more relationships in CAS and dont have to Play it inGame anymore….
    Nop.

You know the whole story thing Kampagne is just yikes..… Because in this game, you have to entertain and imagine yourself, to get fun out of it. You know, the whole start menü screen, is like.... buy buy buy… and you missed that, so buy buy buy… sale… buy buy buy…
In the Sims2 when you opened the menü there was the town with the TOWNIES and theyre unique story… Every Sim had a personal bio, that you could write on and not only just the Household bio. This is story… And not Sims4 Household were they write that this Sims are Friends, and always hang around with each other, but when you check up theyre relationship panel, they have like no relationship to each other… ( I am Looking at you partyhouse, windenburg)

You know i guess some Things are easier to add, some take time, and some things can not be changed at all, i get that, but an actual respond… to the CONSTRUCTIVE critisism. would be nice.

The system requirements for TS4 covers Windows XP, and a very old Nvidia card 6500 series. That video card was released like in 2005, I would say TS4 pretty much outdated.

ive bought past sims games with all or most DLC twice... first time i was desperate for money and sold all my games. went back and bought it all again. sims 4, pfft... only bought a few. sorry, looks nice, but huge disappoinment. i appreciate the free content in updates and the attempts made to put out good packs, but buying a sims 4 pack is like buying a bag of lettuce in a grocery store, its only good for a few days. sorry to the sims 4 mega fans and to maxis, but i been ready for sims 5 for years. im one of the original simmers, and find it insulting that after all that was done in the past with previous games that the latest edition could be so generic. part of me wants to get all the packs just to say i did, but i just cant get myself to do it.

Yes, must not forget Sims 2 it allowed me to make my stories in ways Sims 4 could not. Sims 1 the forgotten Sims game was good for it's time but it was not 3D and and if it was with all those packs it would have been sensational, it was just hard to keep up with the needs for me mother help you if you had multiple sims.

It was all about attaining the new casual players, introducing them to the latest game. Could it be the nearly 16 million followers The Sims 4 has on facebook, most of which sound overjoyed at everything they are doing on Sims 4 be the ones they are listening to the most seeing there is rarely more than 400 players on this forum. The only time I see a differing of opinion on facebook Sims 4 is when someone from here posts over there and many followers quickly disagree with them. I only go there because all the younger set of my family goes there to post - I never post there but read what my young family members say and believe me they are thrilled with SIMS 4. Also note many young folks like the juice thing - they are not into alcohol like young folks were even 10-15 years ago. I see that a lot. They all want juice health bars at gyms and spas even. Today young folks are not the teens and twenty somethings many of us older simmers were. They are also anti-killing of any kind. So perhaps with Facebook feeding directly to EA and Maxis - it really covers over what is posted here.

Bringing up the forum here get you poo-poohed over on facebook. They think the forum are awful with nothing but complaints from what I have seen in the past (I haven't mentioned the forums lately though.)

I know they all love Island Living too. Only a small handfull agreed with hotels - many seemed to like it like it was but to maybe allow apt building there or rentals. Being a vacation spot also was not mentioned a lot.

Ts3 has a casino venue, has blackjack, poker and roulette tables (group activities), plus slot machines and poker machines. Your sims can also buy lottery tickets. And TS3 is rated T for Teens. I don't know why the dev said they can't add them to TS4?

I would guess development team still (at least the leading personal) all cared is about marketing the game than compiling with popular demands. It was all about attaining the new casual players, introducing them to the latest game. Kinda of explains the Alexa pet project thing in a way and why people were bated to watch the stream affliated with it before giving any information what it will be about.

Facebook, the echo chamber. Sometimes, it pays to get out of a bubble.

Those who want to wait five more years for spiral staircases, because followers on FB love the game well, fine, but I'm going to be watching that guy build his new little game and maybe I will already playing with what we can do with a roof in a game instead of sitting here waiting on more 'roof types' five years from now.

I never understand the the "sims4 is rated T for Teen argument" whenever people are asking for stuff. Because if you go by the ESRB ratings, here are some other games that are rated T for Teen: Fortnite, Destiny 2, Overwatch and Apex Legends. All are games where you run around and shoot people, but as soon as we start asking for stuff like more ways for our sims to die, then it is suddenly "because the game is T for teen".

What plum me off, as well few other people I talked to, when one of the developers use said argument why they aren't willing (from implication) to create casinos/gambling of some sorts in the game. Like hell, said developers also pull other two weak arguments, one of which is absurd and the other speaks for the player that clearly is incorrect or pretending to be oblivious to own's misinformation. I guess renaming the activity just like drinking bar's juice (which for some reason exists despite others resentment due to the rating) wasn't in their heads. Though the term was never dysphemish and I don't think the term "gambling" still poses rating threat.

Uhh, what? Go to the post where they updated their cover photo and announced the redesign (not linking here due to real names used on FB).

First comment, " Now just fix the neighborhoods and let us create our own towns. The TS4 neighborhoods are the most disappointing thing of the entire game. Such a stepback." Then, amid some positivity, there are comments very consistent with the forums and the subreddit of how people think the color changes are a headache to look at, some people asking for a reverse, some asking for TS5, etc.

The only difference is the forums tend to have more passionate and enthused fans, as you really need to go out of your way to register and start posting here as opposed to just clicking a FB page with the account you already have.

All I see is people asking for either University, open world or TS5 in the comments lol
