Launcher not accessing website

Is anyone else having trouble signing in on their game? I go through the launcher because I enjoy the online features. Yesterday, April 8th, I found the launcher blank and claiming it couldn't access the website. Went through to my game OK but I couldn't sign in.

So, I closed it, restarted my computer, went to the Sims 3 site and signed in. Everything went well. Started up the game again and the launcher was still blank on the welcome page. Eventually, a message came up that it couldn't access the website and it must be down for maintenance. But the website is up. Could still access my game but not sign in.

Is this a problem tied to the update they are doing for Sims 4? Don't see how it could be. Is there a problem with the website and they are doing maintenance? Still have the same problem today. Is it just me? Oh, I hope not.

Try clearing your Internet Explorer cache and cookies, including de-selecting the checkbox to preserve cookies for Favorites. Even if you never use IE as a browser yourself, the game uses its resources and these things can get clogged up every so often.

Wow! Before I could even try that page you gave me, the launcher is back up and working. Don't know what happened but at least it is fixed. I am logged in. Thanks for the page - I've bookmarked it just in case - and for the help.
