Sims At Work/School Come Home Early When Another Sim Travels - Why??

Whenever one of my Sims travels....anyone in the household at work or school will come home early. I don't recall seeing happening before. I may not have caught it before because I usually play small households. I have a household of 8. & gosh, it's so annoying. My Sims are losing progress at work and school, the kids character value for responsibility drops.
Is this happening in anyone else's game?

It usually happens when a holiday is on, and also when entering Cas.
