Sim quality/uncompressed textures stutter

Hi
I would like to point out that the sim detail setting and uncompressed textures causes stutters and fps drops on many different pc configurations and I have seen that myself.
I can confirm it with my own pc that has i7 4770k, 16 GB ram and a gtx 980 ti with 6GB vram. It shouldn't affect a rig of this caliber as it has the memory for it.
Could the guru's look into this? as I have discovered that this is the ONLY setting that affects the performance. Something is not right here.
