Patchy Got Fried!

Patchy the Straw Man (in treebound scarecrow form) just got struck by lightning. He's just a pile of ashes now with what looks like part of his hat on top. When I mouse over him, it shows his name as if he's still there, but there's no interaction. There's no option to clean up the ashes or somehow restore Patchy. What am I supposed to do with this mess?

It just got weirder. His mobile form is now walking around my house but there's no tree for him to return too. This is a bit unsettling.

Hello.
Try having your sim travel to another lot, then back home again, and see if that helps the issue. The reloading of the lot may help.

Oh no, poor Patchy! Maybe he will still go back to his tree (well, pile of ashes!) after the normal amount of time and then the tree will regenerate?

This literally just happened to me and I went straight here to see if anyone else had the issue! Patchy was just hanging out with my sims during a thunderstorm and his tree was obliterated by lightning! Will he just wonder around forever now?

There was another simmer who had this occur, and said that Patchy just disappeared after a little while. You may need to buy a new Patchy

I might.... he went back to his pile of ashes and I notice the bird animations still going on. Even if he does show back up though there's really no point if I can't ask him for tips or check pockets for seeds. Kinda sad though since I was on really good terms with him.

Patchy DID go back to the pile of ashes. After he did, I sold the ash pile in Buy Mode and bought another Patchy the Straw Man. I had to start over on the treebound form, which wasn't difficult, but the roaming Sim form still retained all the Relationship status he had with the family. It worked out in the end, but there really needs to be a way to restore the ash pile. maybe they'll include that in a future patch... (I hope).

Hey can we maybe put patchy inside a greenhouse or something to keep him safe maybe or does his tree have to be on the ground? I have not bought a Patchy yet - as I did not realize I had to. LOL. I figured he'd just appear one day when my sim had a big enough out side garden. My present sim only has 3 catnip plants out side.

@Writin_Reg I put Patchy in a greenhouse to protect him but the greenhouse was attached to the house and there is a bird animation that flies back and forth to Patchy's tree - the bird was flying through the house (and we just got the birds flying through houses fixed) so I moved him back outside because I could not stand the bird flying through the house. He will just have to take his chances!

Oasis Springs has very few thunderstorms. Yes it's dry and not to pretty but I havn't lost any furniture or a telescope do to lighting.

I have Patchy outside but he's only about 2 spaces away from the house. I just ignore the crows. I chalk it up to one of those quirky things that comes with video games. The incident in question, happened in Brindleton Bay. Seems thunderstorms are quite common there. Very common.
@AprilDawn - Maybe putting Patchy at the farthest end of the greenhouse would keep him safe and the birds out of the house?
