Grr! Ever since the new update my game keeps on getting stuck on the loading screen after selecting a family to play. I've tried repairing my game, optimizing using Nvidia Geforce Experience and clearing my game cache and still nothing. It's frustrating because I only bought seasons a couple of weeks ago and have barely had time to play, and now I can't play it at all. I have mods but currently they are disabled in-game.
Any help would be appreciated.

Instead of disabling your mods, try moving your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if that helps the issues.
Custom careers have been broken by the latest patch so it would be best to remove them if you have them.
If you have the UI Cheats extension mod , it would be best to remove the mod and download/install the updated version that has been released since the patch.
LittleMsSam has also updated her mods

Other mods/cc may also be causing issues.

Is this occurring with all households or just with one household? If it is just one household, try moving that household to another home and test to see if you can load the household there.
If it is all households, try recovering an earlier version of your current save game to play. To do that , go to the main screen of sims 4, and click on the " load game " button.Click on your save game file picture. Then click on the " recover game " button down the right hand side bottom of the screen,. Press on an earlier version of the save game from the menu that pops up. Then load that save game and test to see if the issue remains in that save.
Make sure that your graphics drivers are uptodate.
Try turning off origin in-game and see if that helps. To do that, go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture. Click on “Game Properties”. Then untick the box that enables origin in-game

Start a new game and test to see if the issue is also in that new save game.
Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or "options" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder.
Try testing the game again.
