Active Career and Regular Career Won't Work at the Same Time

In the Sim household I'm currently playing as, there are two brothers -- one of them is a Low Orbit Specialist in the Astronaut career, and the other just started the Scientist career from Get to Work. So that's one regular rabbit-hole career and one active career. I've played with households that had one Sim in a regular career and another Sim in an active career and never had any problems. Until now.
A few Sim days ago, it was Wednesday ingame, my Astronaut Sim left for work at 8:00 AM and I followed my Scientist Sim to work at 10:00 AM. I have Parenthood, so I put sack lunches in both of my Sims' inventories before they left for work. Everything proceeded as normal at first, but that afternoon while I was putting the Scientist through the paces of his active career work day, I noticed that the Astronaut, who was still at work, was feeling Uncomfortable. I checked his needs, and both his bladder and hunger had gone down into the orange. Usually those needs self-correct when a Sim is away at a rabbit hole job, and since I sent my Sim to work with a sack lunch, he should've eaten his sack lunch and gotten a Happy moodlet. But instead his needs kept going down, and eventually his bladder need went into the red and he was feeling Very Uncomfortable. Luckily it was almost 5:00 PM Sim time by that point, and as soon as the Astronaut's work shift ended he started taking care of himself at home while I finished up the Scientist's shift. Once both brothers were home from work, I checked the Astronaut's inventory, and the sack lunch wasn't there, as if he had eaten it at work, but he didn't.
The next Sim day (Thursday) the Astronaut had the day off and he'd recently met some random townie lady and I wanted him to ask her out, so I didn't follow the Scientist in his active career that day because I was focusing on the Astronaut's love life instead. Everything went as normal, and the Scientist came home with a promotion.
The Sim day after that (Friday), both Sims were working again, I gave them both sack lunches before they left for work, the Astronaut left for work at 8:00 AM as usual, and I opted to join the Scientist at work that day. However, as soon as the Scientist arrived at his workplace, I received a notification that the Astronaut had finished his shift and was now home, even though it was only 10:00 AM Sim time and the Astronaut's shift wasn't supposed to end until 5:00 PM. He only got paid for about two hours of work, too. At least his needs didn't plummet, but it's going to take forever for him to advance in his career if he's leaving work after only two hours every shift, or if he's spending most of his shifts being Uncomfortable. I don't have mods or CC installed, so those couldn't be the cause of the problem. I'm not sure what's causing the regular career to go haywire while I have another Sim in an active career, and I don't know what can be done to fix it.

If some of the Sims in my household are at work or at school and I still have Sims in my household that I'm actively playing, as long as the playable Sims stay on the home lot, the other Sims' bladder and hunger needs will continue to take care of themselves while those Sims are at work or school, just as they would normally. Having the playable Sims explore the neighborhood without traveling to any other lots doesn't cause any problems either. However, if I have my playable Sims travel to another lot while other Sims in the household are at work or school, the other Sims' bladder and hunger needs will no longer automatically refill themselves like they're supposed to while those Sims are at work or school. If I then have the playable Sims return to their home lot, the other Sims' needs will start taking care of themselves normally again.
Also, if I have my Sims put Parenthood sack lunches into their inventories before they leave for work or school, and then while they're at work or school I have a playable Sim travel to a different lot, the sack lunches will disappear. Having my playable Sims return to the home lot will not make the sack lunches reappear.
I don’t think that this should be occuring. You may like to start a new thread on the AHQ EA thread and post feedback there
