Sim stuck looking through mail

I have a really weird bug in my game. I moved my sim to one of the apartments next to Salim Benali. She first talked to him when he was going through the mail in his mailbox. Now whenever she talks to him instead of him talking to her, he only makes the "hmmm" noise and the sound of letters flipping like he's going through his mail even though he's not doing that. I've tried resetting him and it didn't help. I wanted her to be friends with him, but it's too annoying that he won't talk.

Try having your sim travel to another lot. Then have her travel back home again, and see if the same thing occurs.
If you still have issues, you could try having her invite him to her home or somewhere else and see if that helps,
