@Elliee1984 here is a pc, that should handle the whole game, mods and cc. Just keep in mind that with how the sims 4 is, you will have fps issues no matter what. But i hope its to your liking (i use the same tower and its easy to upgrade parts in it, there is a panel on top that you can remove to add some more airflow to your pc)

Some products arent in their inventory but they wont build the PC until they got all parts.

@Elliee1984 that one is okay, but i think the parts i picked out are better than them. Some of the brands are unknown to me

Try an APU. Like a Ryzen 5 2400G. Those go for around 150. If your looking to play Very High with 60FPS. Go with a 1080 with an i7

@simgirl1010 The only problem with this laptop is the hard drive space. The hard drive is too small to game on if you only have one hard drive. For that price you can probably go custom and get an overall better laptop. What is your max budget?

I didn't want to go over $1200 USD. Both of my sons are trying to talk me out of it because I have a pretty decent desk top just about a year old plus they say I won't like playing on a laptop. Sometimes I just get tired of being tied to my desktop.

I put my tower on a CPU cat with wheels, I use an hdmi cord, hook my tower up to a TV and use a wireless keyboard and mouse. I have also done this with my 17" laptop because I like a bigger screen

This is custom. No tax outside California. 15.6 " Has a GTX 1050 ti, 16 gb gskill ram. The newest intel i7 processor, 500 gb samsung evo SSD plus a 1 tb HDD hard drive.. price is $1070 . This link won't last long. I did a custom configuration. You would just need to put it in your cart and buy it should you want to buy it. I have a few custom cyberpower computers . The 17" would be more expensive

Thanks so much for this info! I've copied the info to a document. What I'm not sure of is how I'd play the same saves on my desktop and laptop. I only have two saves. My long-playing family and then a save I just started for a vampire couple. (Edward and Bella :D ) For instance would I be able to play a save on my desktop and pick up at the same place on the laptop as long as I'm signed into Origin or would I have to play one save on the desktop and the other on the laptop?

@simgirl1010 Your very welcome. Origin Cloud does not work with this game so you can't play the same game on both computers with cloud. You would have to transfer your save from one computer to another by way of usb flash drive/external hard drive every time you switch computers if you want to continue the same game on both computers. That might get annoying to some people. You could play the old save on your desktop and transfer the new save to your laptop

You would have to install the game from scratch on the new laptop. Start the game to generate a new sims 4 folder. Exit the game. Remove the new sims 4 folder and replace it with a copy of the sims folder from your desktop

Thanks @phoebebebe13. :) What are your thoughts on playing Sims 4 on a Mac?
  • phoebebebe13phoebebebe13 Posts: 19,400 Member
@simgirl1010 You would have to ask the Mac section. What I do know about Mac is price. To get a Mac with a dedicated video card that meets requirements to run this game will cost double or more than a laptop. It would run out of your price range if you stay at $1200. With Mac,like a laptop you can't upgrade hardware accept for ram. Desktop tower PC you can upgrade
