Can't have more than 8 sims and pets in household?

Hi!
I read somewhere that after the Cats and Dogs expansion we could have up to 10 sims and pets in one household, is this not true? 'Cause I have 7 sims and 1 cat now and they can't "try for baby because household is full". Someone wrote that now we could have 8 sims and 2 pets. Or 6 sims and 4 pets for example. Is this a bug or what? I was planning on having 1 more sim, but seems like I have to adopt away the cat or just not get another sim..

Sorry, that's Sims 3. Sims 4 is the same as always

1 pet = 1 sim in the sims 4. max household with combo of pets and sims is 8 unless you use mods . You can increase the household number with mods. This might slow down your game if your computer can't handle having more to a household

Okay @phoebebebe13 and @lillibattenberg Thanks for your answers I decided to keep the cat and stop making more babies, lol, they have their hands full so might as well stop now

You can't try for a baby in a household with 8 sims, (a pet counts as a sim) but you can cheat one in using sims.spawn, and use cas.fulleditmode to change the age and everything else. you will need to type in testingcheats true before doing either of those, but if you won't use cheats, you need to use mods to do that.
