New Patch - 'My Households' Count Keeps Changing For Sims I Never Selected??

I am a little concerned with this new patch & what's happening in my existing Save games. When I first loaded my game, I went to Game Options and selected my Sim count to 150. I then went to Manage Households tab & selected which households I wanted in 'My Households'. I had 23/150. I saved the game & loaded my family. As soon as I sent my Sim to travel, it brings you to map view, & I instantly noticed that all of the residential house icons were a light shade of green. As soon as the new lot loaded, I went back to Manage Worlds, and the My Households counter was showing a red exclamation point with 251/150. I never went back in & selected any additional Sims. I just had the 23 Sims.

As soon as I unclick all the households & they're back in the 'Other Households' tab, I save the game again, as now 'my households' is back to 23/150. But as soon as my Sim went to travel again, all the residential icons are green, & My Households is showing 251/150 again. I finally just gave up & shut my computer down. I honestly don't know what's going on....as I don't want all those households in 'My Households' tab, nor did I select them. Is this happening in anyone else's game??

Currently, my game is straight vanilla, no Mods/CC. I took out the only Mod I play with before I patched the game & I haven't put it back in post-patch. I reset my Sims folder, copied over just the Options file, Saves & Tray folders. & even repaired my game, but this is still happening in all of my existing save files.

@SimGuruNick - have you heard of this issue or know what might be causing this? I really don't know what else to do at this point, as I've already reset my Sims folders & repaired my game several times.

I am sorry that you are having this issue.
Try testing in a fresh new save game and see if the same issue occurs. It may not occur in a save game created since the patch.

@rosemow - I tested in a fresh new save game & it's working as it should. I put a few families into 'My Households', had one of my Sims travel & in map view only the house icons that are in 'My Household's were marked light green.

So does this mean that none of my save files will work with the new patch, & continue to bug/glitch out? This is really troublesome, I have to say, as I have challenges I've been playing for a long time & haven't pretty far such as the legacy challenge & 100 baby challenges. My active family is saved to My Library, but to start completely over on a fresh save means I'm going to lose all family relationship ties & progress I made in the challenge. This is such a bummer.

I am sorry that you are having these issues with your current save games It should be working okay with existing save files.

Thanks @rosemow. I've seen other Simmers mention that household counter, putting them over limit though when they didn't select them, so it may be an issue that's happening in other people's games as well. But no worries...at least the game is playable.

People that are having error 102 also seem to have a miscount of their Sims. Did you delete any ?

@crinrict - Thank you. I didn't get the error 102 at first when I updated the patch and loaded my game. My game was acting funny & glitchy though, so I reset the Sim folder, after repairing didn't work. After I reset the Sims folder & loaded my game, that's when I got the first error 102. It was on a backup save file. I deleted the backup save file, went to the original & it loaded fine, so I haven't seen that error 102 again. The miscount is still happening (per my post)...but it's more than a miscount. I only selected 23 Sims in 'my household's. Almost, every house icon in every world was light green when I went back to map view & all those Sims were in 'my households' tab. Yes I did delete some Sims in one of my save files. In the other existing save file, I didn't delete any Sims, and this household counter issue was still happening.

Did you get 102 in the save you deleted Sims or in the other ?

@crinrict...Neither. I got the 102 error when I first booted up my game after resetting The Sims folder & tried to load the backup save file. I deleted that entire backup Save file and loaded the original save file. I never saw that error 102 again. I deleted Sims in the original save file, which was way after I had received the error.

I have the exact same issue and it's really annoying. I hope they will be fixing this issue soon!

Furthermore, I cannot even create new families because my maximum sim count is so high. This is so frustrating since cats and dogs is out tomorrow!!

I am sorry that you are having this issue,
Try saving your sims families to your library . Then start a new save game, place your sims families into the new save game and test to see if the issues are not occurring there.

The counter is off too in my game is saying I have 162/80 but when in actuality I have 82/80 (56 sims in my favorite households and 27 in other).

I show 1032 sims for my sim count. I don't know where they are all hiding because I only see maybe 50. I need help in deleting them. I have moved them all out of my household and still can't get this number down. I have tried deleting families, but the count stays the same. Help Please!

For now, up your My Households limit to Unlimited.
