Hello
Try lowering the graphics settings and see if that helps.
If you are using a laptop, your computer may be overheating. Try using a laptop cooler pad.
If the issues remain, it would be good to post your DxDiag info here.
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
Then copy and paste the information from where you saved it, to pastebin https://pastebin.com
and post the link to the file here
thanks rose. i'm on a desktop. i had tried repairing my game for like the umpteenth time and it seems to have finally worked. i dont think the desktop is overheating i have some cooling thingy. sadly i know nada about computers
Helo.
I am glad that the issue has improved. If it starts to occur again, you may like to post your dxdiag information here and simmers can check your computer details.
Also try switching between 32 bit mode and 64 bit mode and see if one of the modes helps the issue more than the other
Go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”. Click on Advanced Launch options.
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”
Or change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 64-bit”
i'm back @rosemow because my computer is shutting off again. i am unsure how to do this dxdiag you requesting so i did a google search and i hope i followed the instructions correctly. how much of it should i post?
ok i went back and read over your directions and realized you provided instructions on how to create a save file through the internet. i feel learned. anywho i followed those instructions (took forever!) and was able to do the pastebin thingy. i hope i did it right.
Possible could be a hardware or windows 10 problem. I don't have windows 10. I'll page user @chesterbigbird . She can help you when she comes on the forum later. She is a build expert and also has windows 10. I don't have windows 10 which has it's own issues
Your welcome. OK good that is the driver you should be on. When chester comes on the forum she can help you further to figure out if you might have a possible hardware issue or a windows 10 issue
That sounds a lot like it could be a power supply giving out

I was thinking that too but want to check with @chesterbigbird since windows 10 updates also sometimes cause issues with this game . I also forgot about 1 drive since I don't have windows 10
OP says the computer only shuts down with this game

That's how it worked for me, too, when my power supply was dying - and it was restarting the computer too. Turned out Sims pushed it harder than any of my image processing did, etc.

It's possible. OP's computer is older. They have a 600 series card so the power supply could be failing.

The only thing I see if your video driver needs updating http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Your welcome. Your DxDiag is reading Driver Date/Size: 4/30/2017 8:00:00 PM, 901704 bytes
You should have the 8/24/2017 driver http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/123219/en-us
run your Dxdaig again. You don't need to save as a text file. Once your DxDiag loads click on display tab and see what driver date is showing
I am sorry that you are continuing to have this issue.
Chesterbigbird will be able to assist you she comes onto the forums.
