So after talking to my parents i'm only allowed to get an apple laptop since thats the only brand they trust

Ok. you can still play the sims 4 on apple. but not the sims 3. you can only play low setting on apple laptop

Sorry to interrupt but why that last thing? I own a Macbook Pro and was thinking about installing TS3, I can't see why wouldn't it be possible to set visual options on high. The new Macbook Pros are mounting last gen i7 quad-core and even six-core; the bigger ones with 4GB Nvidia cards.

ohhh your getting the new macbooks. sure thats fine

Id love to know how TS4 plays on your MacBook Pro! Can you play on high-ultra graphic settings at high fps rates? also what version/year is yours

Haven't installed The Sims 4 on it, but it should indeed work well with high graphic settings according to the game's requirements and the laptop specifications. Mine's the 2018 version, but I wouldn't recommend buying a Mac if your intention is to play on it... Better choose MSI or Alienware.

The problem with TS3 on Mac is it's built on Cider which limits you to 2GB (no matter how much ram the computer has installed). On the Windows side, it's more like 3.7GB. So if you're playing with multiple packs on a Mac, you're bound to run into crashing issues often. Mac users have to manually reset ram if they choose to play TS3. I'm not a Mac user but this is what I do know. For more information, you can view these links:

Most people playing TS3 on a Mac end up bootcamping.

Thanks for the clarification; didn't know anything about what you have explained. I have played The Sims 3 on an iMac, but always on Windows through Bootcamp and as far as I can remember didn't have any issues. As for The Sims 4, this one I did play it on Mac OS without any issues at all, but it was some time ago.

Sims 4 is different from Sims 3. Mac - Sims 4 should play just as Windows does.
