I haven't gotten someone fired, but I have actually done the firing. I was the most junior member of a board of directors, and everyone else was afraid to do it, so they asked me and I said, sure. I don't get why it's so scary: I just asked the person in line for firing, for their key back, they asked why, I said key first please, they gave me the key, then I told them to pack up their stuff, they were being terminated immediately. Done. Easy. Yet the ladies acted like I was some kind of hero for being willing...it's not like I was disposing of a body for them. The person being fired had it coming in a serious way. I slept easy that night.
And never been to South Korea.
