Problem with skills

Hi

Okay, so I have very annoying problem in my game now. The alchemy skill does not work at all anymore. My sim can skill it and went all they way to level 5 but only learned one potion. All the other potions (from the lvl 1 to 5) are showing as sim " has not learned this potion yet". I do not have any special seeds on my sims inventory and also I did the factory reset for the game. No mods or CC installed. Tried with several sims and saves, nothing helps. Anyone having the same issue?

Have you tried deleting your cashe package files? It cleans the game and fixes some bugs . The game will regenerate new files every time you play. I delete them every time I start my game http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Delete_Cache_Files

Yes I have already tried that too ....this is really weird problem, never had it before.

This kind of thing can be prevented with NRaas Overwatch and fixed if it still happens with MasterController and MasterController Cheats.

Without mods, no clues sorry. It's a game bug. Lots of skill-related things are broken that way.

I do have those mods and tried those but they did not fix this problem. But I´ll try them again, thanks ...

On the sim, you might try NRaas > MC > (Sim) > Advanced > Books > Alchemy Recipes to "cheat" a couple of recipes just to see what happens. (MC Cheats add-on module required.)

I re-installed the game and run the game without mods or CC, this problem is still there. I also tried What you suggested @igazor but the mod says no sim meets requirements for this. Any idea what to do ...thanks.

You have a sim who already has a high level Alchemy skill. You click on the sim themselves, then NRaas > MC > Advanced > Books > Alchemy Recipes and select a lower level recipe that you want them to have learned. What happens?

Didn't really solve the problem of why can't they learn these on their own, but at least now we know the skill itself isn't totally broken there.
