One Of The Best Packs

«1
This is, without a doubt, one of the best packs The Sims has ever released. I know there are a lot of threads saying this, but they are well-deserved.

I wasn't all too hyped for this pack. I thought it was just another partying one. I don't particularly do the party bit, and I prefer to play older Sims regardless, but I've really enjoyed everything the newest pack has to offer. Pub games, "beer" drinking, the closet, extremely-specific clubs, and beautiful, beautiful Windenburg! Not to mention all the building tools that I never imagined would get put in (such as drain pipes! Thank you, EA, for gifting those who love exceedingly detailed houses!).

I am so happy with this pack. I have never felt so satisfied. This also gives me hope for the inevitable "Get Seasons" because in the Sims 2 and 3 the season packs have always been my favourite. Knowing EA/Maxis can do this sort of wonderfully fulfilling pack (and the patch that came with... @.@ what a Christmas gift!!!) gives me so much hope for the future.

Sincerely,

A Very Pleased Simmer

I agree 1000000% with you. It just feels like such a good addition to the game as a whole and is going to add so much gameplay for me!

It is, without a doubt, one of the best additions to the sims in any of the series! Sims 4 is going to blow the past series out of the water!

I was surprised with the quality of it too.
Since its announcement I had had zero enthusiasm about it and didn't bother trying to keep up with the released info.
I got it as a present from my boyfriend and I LOVE it. I honestly believe this series is headed in the best possible direction.
Get to Work and Get Together are both stunning EPs and so much has been put into it. It's astounding.

Honestly i'm so darn over the moon this pack met my expectations. I was absolutely scared i'd hyped myself up to much for it that i'd cause myself to be disappointed but the group function is everything I dreamed and more. Its bought a whole new way of playing to the game as well as adding things I so desperately wanted.

For children: Clubs have opened up allot of play with children. I;ve made a homework club that is just for doing homework and a weekend club that meets in the park on Saturdays to play and socialise!

For Teens: Oh my, this has streamlined finding my teen sims a partner. All I have to do is set the age requirement to teen and i can pick and choose any teen i want as my sims new spouse HAHAHHA apart from that ive made a teen club that sneak out at night and party at the ruins!

For YA and Adults: Building skills in a group is so much fun! With the boosts you can unlock in the club menue its so darn easy to level up friendship AND skills. Its reallly limitless in what you can do and i;ve only just scratched the surface.

Elders: By far my funniest club is my elders who hate EVERYONE. Kids, Teens, YA, Adults. I've set it so they are mean to them all! I also made a baking club full of old ladies who are nice o everyone. Its feels so much more realistic for me that i have a group of sweet old grannies drinking coffee in the cafe and hugging everyone!!!

And gosh darnit the CAS and build/buy mode objects are wonderful!!!

Oh, and gorgeous open spaced windenburg. Your so beautiful XD

I rarely played with elders before but after this pack my main sims is one elder. I made some groups for him of w*** club rofl and some kind of mischief stuff.

@LunaNova You've inspired me to make a sweet old lady club! Could even build a hang-out where they can play cards... There is so much opportunity! Funny to think they haven't added much more content, just give you the option to explore it easier!

YES, this, exactly! I was not expecting "scripted events" like these random dance parties. I absolutely love them, had one at the mansion lot and it felt so realistic.

This ep is truly (to me at least) the best thing we have seen so far in this franchise. It turned out to be so good, it's almost unreal O.o.

I agree, Get Together is outstanding! The clubs are an ingenious asset and offer a whole new way to play Sims. It's a great way to make friends and feel that inter-connectedness to the town as a whole.

One of my favorite things is club members or just friends will call and invite your Sim out to "special" fun nights at different venues. Places really feel lively and are such a blast with Sims showing up in themed costumes playing games together. Really adds a nice punch to an outing.

Windenburg is exceptionally beautiful. My favorite so far is The Bluffs and the dance parties there! Omg, the DJ "experience" is the best yet! Good times! I was really looking forward to that feature, and am extremely impressed with the music, dancing, shows and all the effects. Haven't seen the sea monster so far. There are still many more places and areas to visit, but the clubs are keeping my Sims hopping. Very pleased with this EP! <3

I agree! I love the invites out! I haven't gone out to any because I have been so busy setting things up, but I am back to playing Gunner now and he accepted Bo's invitation to the bluffs.

    Party!!!

Couldn't agree more with all the thoughts and enthusiasm that has been shared here. This was a great pack that went above and beyond what I was hoping for. The only problem now, is I'm so excited to see what else they come up with, I'm having a really hard time being patient! ROFL

I agree it is a good pack and did exceed my expectations. Although the trend of no supernatural upsets me a bit I admit. But for the first time since I bought the game, I am actually really enjoying build mode. I'm barely discovering clubs now, but so far I think they got the sandbox formula well for this game, so nice job Maxis.

@Ceres_Meiriona I too lack patience to see what next! I really want to know a like bare minimum goal of what they will try and release in a year like in 2016 our goal is to for example publish 1 to 2 EPs, 2-3 GPs, and 4-5 SPs.

Oh gosh, I am really hoping for an EP every 6 months at the very least! I would love a projection.

This club system sounds great, but claiming it's the best EP ever made sounds a bit too simple for me (especially when it's still new and shiny). As if you can even compare all those totally different EP's (or have to in the first place). And then there's personal preference. Gathering a lot of sims and party for instance is not (and has never been) important for me. I completely understand nightclubs in Late Night were a disappointment to many, but I never really noticed or cared because I hardly ever take my sims there. I guess you can compare it to toddlers and recognizable teens; some miss them in a deal breaking way, others couldn't care less. So this empty 'best evvah' and 'going to blow the past series out of the water' rhetoric is strictly private at best.

Probably not best EP ever, but out of the two provided, it offers more freedom than GTW did. I don't have GTW, so I can't do a fair comparison, but I've heard GT is better just from others who have played both EPs. It seems like so far, it is one of the most popular packs in the Sims 4. There is still four years at least left of the Sims 4, so it is anyone's ballgame what else will be released.

Never thought I would find myself saying this but this EP is the best but there is still work to be done to bring Sims 4 to it's full potential.

Even LGR liked it! What else needs to be said- lol. I love this pack too and the Modern district is great. I'm trying to figure out a way to fit everything there, ha.

You can create a club for Sims to come to your house, cook more food than your fridge can hold, repair everything in sight, clean everything in sight, and garden all for free, whenever you want to call them over.

It's way too early to conclude this. I would definitely say it could have the potential though.

I don't know if the sales numbers reflect my views, but it seems when they develop content to be more open, and provide the player with freedom to play their way, it is generally liked way more than linear, restrictive gameplay.

TS4 GTW was just horrible IMHO. 3 linear careers is not what we needed, and the whole EP itself went against everything so many people have asked them for. It is hugely the opposite from Get Together, which boasts a ton of room for you to play the way you'd like, and the tools to do so. Who knows what route they'll take in the future, given we've gotten a taste from both sides relatively early. But I think we can conclude TS4's potential is contingent on the route they choose. And I think they will have to settle on one route or we'll end up with an inconsistent mess, similar to TS3, but worse.

All I know is, based on forum and other website feedback, sandbox is the way to go. It's the true roots of the series, and it's what people want. If they provide patches to open the restrictive content up more, and continue to design ALL FUTURE content with the idea of replayabilty and player freedom in mind, I have no doubts TS4 could end up as a great, if not the greatest, addition to the franchise.

I agree totally. so many of my good ideas have been realised in this expansion. Thanks from the bottom of my heart to EA for giving themselves extra time to make it so perfect. <3 And NO - no more Seasons for me, thanks!

I said what I said because, for me, I have liked and enjoyed sims 4 right out of the gate. And for me, it has already surpassed sims 3.

As for GTW, I enjoy the retail aspect of it and that has replayability for the series and the potential for more shops as more content gets added. Sure, the careers are a grind and not really ideal for replaying, but they were kind of fun in their own way. But the retail side is a great addition and has potential to grow with the series.

Personally, I hope they go with the sandbox style of GT in future eps and gps. It's what the game needs. And what it's 'roots' are. If they are going back to their roots as claimed, then it will be the best of the series!

If EA/Maxis remain focused and add certain features it may but for me I rather wait and see. :)
