Hey, I'm having the same issue with my new computer, and here's my dxdiag though It's better than the old computer I had that ran sims 4 just fine. I've updated NVIDIA drivers twice, done hard resets, turned off the In Game Chat, and everything else I'm finding online. I tried running a test version of Origin, to no avail. I'm seriously upset that a brand new computer that runs all sorts of higher end games right now just... can't run Sims 4??

On a whim, I restarted my computer with a different monitor attached. That fixed the issue. On the test version of Origin I was able to start it windowed that fixed my issue though it still doesn't work about 50% of the time. Hopefully they patch this issue or I can get a new monitor that it likes.

It is good that you have been able to start your computer, by using a different monitor.
The native mode of your old monitor is 1360 x 768 and you had the screen resolution at 1768 x 992 , so perhaps this was causing issues?

Your video card is integrated with the processor and not designed to play 3d games like the sims. The game will give out warnings when your computer is not supported to run the game. You have a laptop? Is it a gaming laptop and do you have a second video card that is designed to run this game? If not, you can't upgrade video card or processor in a laptop. You are stuck with the specs you buy. If your laptop can no longer run the game, you will need another computer to play on. We advise people to own a computer that meets recommended requirements so you don't fall behind with all the add ons. If your under requirements just a patch can do your computer in to where the game will no longer play.
Your resolution is too high for the intel 520 card . The higher the resolution, the better the video card you need. You can try lowing your in game resolution in your launcher , playing in windowed mode, check off laptop mode , lowering your game settings. These will all take stress off your video card. In the end you will probably need a new computer to survive all this games add ons if you don't already have another computer to play on and you don't own a gaming laptop. Sorry for the bad news.
Hello. Can someone help me with this issue as well? I checked all my drivers and they say it's up to date, I did a system run to see that it runs the recommended requirements for the game, and even disabled Origin in game (and put it on 32-bit), and it will no longer run. I put down the system information here in case maybe it is something wrong with the laptop. My laptop is a MSI Gaming laptop. I'll put the information down in another post or two

Hi guys, I'm currently having the same issue with my Sims 4. It has worked absolutely fine, I do live streams and lets plays with it and I have had no issues. However, I now get the same error message others are getting with the video card error. Whenever the game is in the natural resolution of 1920x1080, my monitor supports this and it's what I have been using ever since I got the Sims 4.

As I mentioned, this is a recent development. I last played it on January 28th and it was fine, I then tried to open it yesterday and it failed with this error message. I bought The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs in the Origin sale, and I can't play it. I've never had issues with it running up until now, so it's very frustrating.
I'm currently reinstalling the latest drivers just in case.

It is good that you have been able to start your computer, by using a different monitor.
The native mode of your old monitor is 1360 x 768 and you had the screen resolution at 1768 x 992 , so perhaps this was causing issues?

You should be playing in native mode witch is 1080 60 hz. Your current mode is 1768 29 hz
Edit, I've already tried turning Orgin in game off.
Playing in window mode didn't help either.
Checked my intel updates, only things available for update were bluetooth & dual band wireless

Your video card is integrated with the processor and not designed to play 3d games like the sims. The game will give out warnings when your computer is not supported to run the game. You have a laptop? Is it a gaming laptop and do you have a second video card that is designed to run this game? If not, you can't upgrade video card or processor in a laptop. You are stuck with the specs you buy. If your laptop can no longer run the game, you will need another computer to play on. We advise people to own a computer that meets recommended requirements so you don't fall behind with all the add ons. If your under requirements just a patch can do your computer in to where the game will no longer play.
Your resolution is too high for the intel 520 card . The higher the resolution, the better the video card you need. You can try lowing your in game resolution in your launcher , playing in windowed mode, check off laptop mode , lowering your game settings. These will all take stress off your video card. In the end you will probably need a new computer to survive all this games add ons if you don't already have another computer to play on and you don't own a gaming laptop. Sorry for the bad news.

hey sorry, just got this message. I tried doing that. NVIDIA GEFORCE EXPERIENCE says that my drivers are up to date, so it has to be something else :/

I already did switch the graphic card switch-a-roo, and it didn't do much, so that wasn't it.
And after a manual search, I found out NVIDIA GEFORCE was Bull****ing me and found the latest driver. So I'll see how that goes.
No need anymore. Game is working again. Wow, I am not happy NVIDIA lied to me like that xD. Thanks again!

As I mentioned, this is a recent development. I last played it on January 28th and it was fine, I then tried to open it yesterday and it failed with this error message. I bought The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs in the Origin sale, and I can't play it. I've never had issues with it running up until now, so it's very frustrating.
I'm currently reinstalling the latest drivers just in case.
