@93Nat You did not post the video card but looking up the HP computer model it does not meet requirements to run the game , HP is stating this computer is from 2008. You would need a different computer with modern hardware that meets recommended requirements

It looks like you upgraded some of the computer. You need an i5 quad core and the r5 220 is a very low end card sorry

My GF has been playing this game on and off for a bit on my PC, it's not a great PC but it runs what I've played WoW, LoL, SC2. Until recently she's had no problem loading or playing the game but today she went to play for the first time in 3 weeks(ish) and it keeps giving her the error. Tried turning off Origin in game for both game and base but to no avail. Have not tried uninstall and reinstall yet. Here is a copy of dxdiag.

    Hello @Mattei5813
Try making sure that your graphics drivers are uptodate.

If the issue remains, try starting the game in windowed mode

@ian356094 Try playing in windowed mode per rosemows link. You may need to cap your fps. Not many of us who help in tech play on AMD but if @ChelleJo is around they can help you with AMD settings. @chesterbigbird might also be able to help you

I guess I should say what I've already tried. I tried disabling Origin in-game, I tried windowed mode, I tried repairing the game through Origin, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game, I re-checked to make sure my driver was upgraded fully. None of those things helped. But thank you for helping!

    Hello @ian356094
I am sorry that you are having this issue.
Try going to Windows Update on your computer and make sure that your computer is uptodate with patches.

    @ian356094
I would start with a clean install of drivers
    https://community.amd.com/thread/180667
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKXP60WvdJg
Before you do that Download driver
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows 10 - 64
Then follow the tutorials.. Make sure you are in safe mode while using DDU.
only select the clean and restart on the DDU (recommended)
After DDU has finished and you have restarted, then install the driver you downloaded.
Just a tip though.. you have a good system and you are using a lower resolution, Consider buying a full HD monitor. (1080p)

@chesterbigbird I install all of my driver updates through there no problem, so it's not that.

It could be a monitor issue or maybe something else. If you have any Internet security programs, try disabling them and run the game.

If those don't work, I think you should contact EA support because of this.

Yes but did you clean install them with DDU?
Sometimes they can be corrupted and cause multiple issues.

Just letting everyone know that it was a problem with the driver update(s). I had to roll back twice before it finally worked. It wasn't just the Sims. None of my games were working. But it seems fine now. Thanks for the help everyone!

Hi, my Sims 4 game won't run due to this error, the game ran fine a few months ago but now it gives me this error. I have tried various solutions but none worked:

    1. my video card is nvidia GTX960M which is on the compatible list
    2. I have updated the drivers with a clean installation twice
    3. I have assigned the game to use the high performance video card
    4. I deactivated Origins in Game
    5. I have tried starting it in windowed version by editing it in properties

What else can I do to make the game run? I have an MSI which is quite new so I don't believe my laptop is out of date. Please help me, thank you very much.

    Hello @gte1134
I am sorry that you are having this issue.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling origin and see if that helps.

I am posting this for @mexiiicooo
HELLO I am new to this. I just badly need your help (hoping u could help me out) So I just installed sims 4 cats and dogs and the game won't open up. It says 'can't run the sims 4 with the video card in this system'. I think my computer's specs meet the required specs in order to run the game. Dunno what happened, I just wanna play this game so bad
    .

    Their dxdiag information is
    https://pastebin.com/qm4nH4MH

    Hello @mexiiicooo
In the link that I posted, it gives instructions how to start the game in windowed before you launch the game.
    I will post it here

In Origin, right click on the game tile and choose Game Properties
Add -w to the Command Line Argument field
    Hit Apply
    Start the game

Your nvidia drivers aren’t uptodate. Try going to the nvidia site, search for your graphics card, and downloading updated drivers.

Cats and Dogs requires at least 4gb ram, and your computer has less than that to use.

You are also running very low on hard drive space on your c drive.

I am going to ask @phoebebebe13 to look at your DXDiag
