Can't set up stage? Please help

Ugh I'm so frustrated at this point. I've tried to get my level 4 magician sim to set up the stage after she gets a gig. I come on time, I've changed her into her career outfit first, but every time she goes to set up the stage, she does that "something's in the way" reaction. I can't figure out how to fix it. Her gig just ended at one point I spent so long trying to fix it.
