:) I am going back to making Collection Files for my store sets.
The following store sets for download on my blog
[ bloodviolet.blogspot.com ].

Added Today 5/4/2013:
The Lucky Simoleon Casino
Serenity Retreat
Al Fresco Street Market

Added Today 5/1/2013:
Le Cirque Celebration
Waning Moon
The Deep Freeze Ice Lounge

Added Today 4/26/2013:
Drifters Desire
Mid-Century Modern Dining
Happily Ever After
Lullabies and Nursery Rhymes
Country Livin'
==========
FYI :!: These go in your The Sims 3/Collections/User Folder. NOT your Mods folder.

:!: FYI :!: I did notice something else sort of odd that I didn't know before. If you install the collection file and not the set, and the set includes a fireplace, fence, gate, or stairs; you will have a "placeholder" item showing in the folder. After installing the item that went in the set the "placeholder item" no longer appeared. Just be aware there is nothing wrong with the collection file and I did not add the "placeholder" item to the file, it just works that way for some reason. :?

Thank You! That's my favorite picture I have of him so far; because it shows off his dimple so well. He only has one and it just turns me to mush everytime he flashes it at me. :D LOL, sorry to gush I'm just crazy about the little guy.

And you're all quite welcome for the files, I hope someone else can get some use out of them.

    Thank you so much!!

I made my own custom collections of the things I use the most but then I kinda ran out of steam 3/4 of the way through doing the Set specific folders. I'll be able to finally add the few remaining stragglers! :D

Yeah, I've found a few places where people have done collection files but I'm nit-picky so I had to make my own. I wanted just the items collected that were in the sets; the way that they were sold. I found some that the person had left items out and another that had added items in that they thought went with the set. I also wanted the collections named the same as they are in the store... I hope they are all right I checked each set against the store to see if I had added all the right items.

This is great and just what I was looking for. Do I only put in the folders for the store sets I own or the entire file so it is all ready if I buy future sets? I don't normally download anything other than what I buy at the sim store. I too have been trying to catalog but by the time I am done working on it I don't have time to play the sims. A lot of stuff is not cataloged. I can't believe that EA didn't set up the catalog better (well I take that back it is EA after all :)

Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us.

OP, would you be open to making base game collection files, by any chance? :) or just the base game stuff? They're kind of hard to find nowadays, swimming in the sea of cc.

    Thank you.

*whispers* pst....full recat for the base game too. All the roadsigns, billboards and the freezer bunny soft toy unlocked. *looks around furtively then scurries off*

Edit *runs back in* Oh, and hide all those stupid non-recolourable fences and add four matching railing fences. And decorative school buses and limos.

 I'm not 100% sure but theoretically you can install these and whatever items you own from these sets will appear in the folders. If I'm wrong about that please someone let me know. That is of course if you haven't done anything to alter the files. I don't think these collection files will work if you are using say s3pe to combine and compress them, but I might be wrong. :? Any feed back anyone has about this would be appreciated.

 I was just about to point you to The Sims 3 Store Catalogue but I see that MrHawk has already stepped in. He's done some nice work over there if you are looking for some larger combined collections.

I myself plan to do some clutter collections like Kitchen Clutter, Bathroom Clutter, Laundry Room Clutter after I finish with the store sets. Those are the items I have the hardest time finding when I want them. Unless someone can point me to a place where they've already been made. :D

Just adding my thanks as well. I, like others, have tried to make collections, only to stop since it was so time consuming.

Thanks for this. And I'm bookmarking in case you return with an update with more collection folders.

*whispers back* thank you. Is it possible to unlock the LN potty wall for home lot use? Would love to use as divider. Never understood why it could only be used on commercial lots???
    Thanks bunches.
