Events On Calendar And Rotation Play

I'm curious to know if one household in my rotation invites Sims from another household to an event, will that still take place if you're at the invited household? Or do I need to go into the Hosts household in order for their event to take place? Please, and thank you, in advance.

This interests me too. I've read earlier that the event would happen, but when I tried it in my game it didn't.

Okay. I think I'll go ahead and change households a tad early then. Once the event has taken place, then I will likely switch back again. I want him to ask her the question. LOL

UPDATE: I stayed with the household that had received the invitation. It was set for 2 PM, but when the Sim clock reached 2:34 PM, I decided it wasn't going to happen. I exited without saving and switched households. When the party got started, my guests weren't showing up. At one point I had the Host call them and invited them to hang out. One of them showed up and then finally all three guest showed up. :)

I have some news on this subject.

I was playing Henrietta and decided to host a dinner party at her mother- & father-in-law's place. I scheduled it to start next sunday 4pm. Then I went to play her boyfriend Prospero who was also invited to the party. However there was nothing in his calendar so I assumed the party wouldn't happen and arranged a new one to start at 3pm. That worked fine and they were all at the dinner party - but then at 4pm another dinner party started and replaced the one that was going on! I'm thinking perhaps the sim who is set to host the party needs to be present for the party to begin or they need to be at the correct place or something. It seems to work on some level for rotational play, but not sure how exactly.

Well, like I stated above, perhaps, the thing was working. The guests were late, as it turned out. Perhaps, they're not leaving for the event when it was 'time' was indicative they were running a tad late. Oi! I'll have to set up another event to test it better. Yikes. But, I never noticed anything on the attendee's calendar, either. Hm.

I tried with a wedding earlier. I played the guest household the entire day and the wedding never happened

I think the events happens for you only if you are the host and playing in the host lot? I've always got events scheduled and I think those are the only times they come up, when I'm on the host lot. It would be cool though to get a pop up saying so and so is getting married and it's time to go the wedding! And then you go as a guest

    Yes. I think so too
I really wish it worked like that. I also wish we could see bdays of all played households on the calender, not just the active one, so we don't miss it

That's not completely right if you read my post. I had a dinner party planned by a sim I was not playing. But the sim and guests were already all in the correct locale when it started.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood. I thought your main host's event replaced the old one, but it looks like the other way around? The other Sim's event replaced yours and you could see it take place?

Oh my gosh, this is going to totally change how I play my game if it works how I think it does. Does this mean you can gate crash the calendar events of other Sims?? That's really cool lol. I'm going to have to try that out now. Do you have to be invited? All my Sims are on Winter break and some have Winterfest parties coming up on their calendars. I'm going to try and gate crash them with invites and without. But did you join as an active participant if you were on the invite list? Could you see the guided event interactions in the top left part of the screen or was it just like the event was happening around you and you were just on the same lot?

I'm going to test this out. If that's the case, I'm going to have to keep track of all my events on paper so I know when everything is happening in my game. It would be so fun to stop by even if you are just an observer. I play rotationally and plan lots and then just switch to another family, there's always events happening in my town, but I usually plan them on family lots so I am never there at that time when I've switched to another Sim.

    I hope this works

Sorry I wasn't able to write it very clearly, it was a weird situation. But the event my sim had planned started first and then after an hour it was replaced by the event his girlfriend (who I was not playing atm) had planned. My sim was hosting the first one, but only invited to the second. Please let us know how your testing goes :)

From your post to the Devs' collective ears! We used to get reminders in Sims3.
