Thank-you Lisa, I appreciate your suggestion and the links. I'll check them both out. Yes Jafo, I've tried installing packs from the launcher. I only get sent back to the EA App, which still only lets me download some, but not all of my expansion packs. Thanks for your comment though, I appreciate your help.
Thanks Gibbs, it was worth a try, but the problems with this household are getting worse. I switched back to it from playing another household, but now half the functionality isn't working. For a starters, the pictures of the sims on the left aren't there. Nor is the picture of the active sim that normally is above the…
It was working a couple of days ago, but it's not opening anymore. The link still goes to Origin, but to an error page. The points for all Origin games seem to be down, not just Sims 3.
Thanks Damienf and Igazor, I appreciate your insight and suggestions. I'm not at all adverse to using mods, and I'll make sure I add a furnished house or two. :)
Okay I'll use Pastebin next time. And yes I'm happy for now, we don't need to get into this further. Thanks. I appreciate that you take the time for helping people out. It's very good of you.

Thanks Igazor, I appreciate your help. I understand the limitations of not having a dedicated graphics card. I'll try turning my graphics setting down and switching off Advanced Rendering to see if it runs better. I already have switched off shopping, the interactive startup game and memories. Pulling out my TS3 folder…
I'm sorry to hear that Popstarsley. I've learned since my first post that playing with Appaloosa Plains is causing my computer problems. I still have Pets loaded, but I'm playing in a smaller town and I'm having less problems now. It's still a bit laggy, but it's not crashing anymore.
Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I tried disabling autonomy, but now she just stands there doing nothing. I want my sims to have some autonomy, just not be scatterbrained about it. The comment about the multitasking seems to be right. Too bad EA overdid it. Maybe they'll fix it in a future update. Thanks…
I also find it hard to get my sims to have conversations with other sims. I'll get them to chat about something, but then my sim stops talking and starts playing games on her computer, so if I want to advance a relationship I have to keep intervening and cancelling the computer action and get the conversation going again.
