I've actually purchased from Best Buy U.S. for past packs and the codes have worked. I'll probably give that a try when they have a sale. The only time it doesn't work is with the Xbox website specifically at least to my knowledge.
I didn't expect people to ask the Guru's, they just make the game so I wouldn't expect them to have information on pricing haha But I'll have to check out the AnswersHQ!
I usually can't find other packs at EB Games aside from Expansions. I got a pack from Caskets once and even thought it said it works in Canada it never redeemed. I did get a refund but I won't buy from them again.
I didn't both with EA Customer Service because they would have no clue why that is. That and anytime I've contacted them I've never gotten proper answers...
I don't understand why you keep going back to the exchange rate. The exchange rate is better now than it's been in a long time... If anything because of it, the packs should be cheaper. And again, it would affect more than just two packs. The same goes for taxes/tariffs/fees, that would impact all packs and not just Sims…
Thank you! If I remember correctly, even Moschino Stuff cost $1 more or something. Again, I just assumed it was because of the collaboration. And it's true too that if it was from the exchange rate or some other major factor, it would increase all pack prices.
Yes exactly... And $25.99 CAD converted is $24.76 USD which is higher than $19.99 USD before tax. Therefore, it costs more before tax. I get that tax is different which is why I'm not including it. If it was based off the exchange rate, $25.99 CAD would be closer to $19.99 USD. Also, the Canadian dollar is stronger now at…
As I've stated it's not the exchange rate. The pack is listed at $29.99 CAD which means with sales tax at 13% the price is $33.88. Game packs used to be listed as $25.99 which would be $29.36 with 13% tax. Currently $29.99 is worth $24.76 USD meaning I'm paying $4-5 USD more than those in the U.S. Even right now, $25.99…
I had the exact same thought with Journey To Batuu. I figured it was similar to The Sims 3 Katy Perry Sweet Treats where it was the branding that increased the price for that individual pack. When JTB came out I asked why it was more and got similar answers of, "It's still the same in the U.S." or "duh it's the exchange…
While I'm not happy about the price increase I'm glad those in Brazil are in the same boat as us. At least it shines some light on where pricing is being increased on packs.
I asked the same question when JTB came out but I figured it was just more expensive because of the IP they used. It's just infuriating they do it without any sort of warning and explanation of why they're doing it.
I was debating on checking that because with the current exchange rate, it might be cheaper to use my Canadian card on a U.S. website which is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me... I'm just going to wait for a sale though regardless. I haven't heard anything too positive about the pack so far.
I did some sleuthing and noticed it was the same. I'm so tired of Canadian prices going up without any explanation. And it's not the exchange rate because $26 CAD is mere cents below the $20 USD.
The Sims' lack of intelligence. Seriously, I have to fight with my Sims to make them do something. I shouldn't have to tell my Sim to do something only for them to drop what I told them to do to go do something different. If I want my Sims to do something, I expect them to immediately do it.
I wouldn't be too nervous with The Sims. It's the companies that never really mention the LGBTQ+ community then release a line of product for Pride to make a profit off it that you need to be careful of. I don't expect The Sims to do anything huge but I do think it's great they have a genuine connection to LGBTQ+ players…
Bond with nature... We already have Outdoor Retreat, Seasons, Jungle Adventure, Island Living (conservationist), Eco Lifestyle, Snowy Escape (snowboarding, rock climbing), etc. I'm not saying nature is a bad thing but I feel like it's covered... I'm interested in what they're doing for a Pride event and whatever the…
One thing I always have problems with is building by rooms instead of just throwing down walls and floor tiles wherever. For example, I always struggle with creating a balcony that looks down to the floor below. I wish I could just CTRL + Click to delete single floor tiles.
I would like the team to talk about recycled animations and items. I find more often packs include recycled content in an effort to "expand the game" without actually expanding it. As a couple of examples, Snowy Escape included snow from Seasons and rock climbing from Fitness Stuff. City Living included re-swatched kitchen…
I've been playing on console lately and I don't think the locked doors work there. I tried to lock out the neighbors who keep barging in and even with it locked I brought my Sims back from vacation and someone was in their house. I'll give it a try when I play on PC and see what happens.
