Paralives just revealed their language system (i.e. their version of Simlish) to patrons. It will be revealed once they make the post public. I appreciate the regular updates. I wonder when we'll hear from Project Rene next. I believe I saw they had a recent playtest on EA Playtesting?
I'm glad I am not the only one with issues navigating the new EA App. It's not as simple as going to the Sims 3 store anymore if tied to the EA app. It requires digging through the EA website to get to your account settings, navigating to your purchase history, sending a security code to your email that you must enter into…
So like Animal Crossing sounds. I'm okay with that. I'm fine with Rene not having this conversation feature. Instead, I want a return to the interests-based conversation being shown in chat bubble icons. I want different sims to not get along. I always felt that Sims 4 it's such a sandbox that you can be best friends and…

Think it’s important to…
Happy for you! As a vicenarian, I’ve recently been getting back to playing Sims 3, a game that I don’t think I fully appreciated for what it was during my teenage years. There are worlds, careers, and skills I never got a chance to explore.
I will say the journey has been well worth it. I am very much enjoying Roaring Heights. The design is exquisite. I couldn't afford to pay $35 on a world back in 2013, so now I pay the $35 a decade later in 2023.
Back when Sims 3 was in its prime, adding and downloading a new world would be a "rudimentary task." However, it should be known that this new EA App that we've all been pushed to adopt has been nothing but a complexifier. Support for Sims 3 is waning. Still, it shouldn't discourage anyone from trying to play the game in…
After playing around, I may have solved it. If you have Story Progression's "manage homeless" turned off, it seems to block any changes to homeless Sims. I thought they would still be moved to the Service household and non-service homeless sims would be removed via Overwatch. That seems to be false.
It's the reason why I never became attached to any of the TS3 or TS4 premades. For Sims 5, they seem to be focusing on narrative design via public job postings. I hope this key hire is knowledgeable regarding Sims lore, town interconnectedness and dynamics, and backstories. This will be a deciding factor on how well I rate…
Yes. We know from developer comments that Sims 2 was built on the original Will Wright Sims 1 engine. For Sims 3 and 4, the engine was scrapped and built up from scratch. I think that's a relevant fact.
Exactly. The AI models should have seed parameters and simulate chain reaction domino effects like you describe. This is different from pre-programming rules or agent behaviors.
Comparison of the color customization in the prototypes for Project Rene and LBY: Project Rene* Select hue via color wheel, then refine color in the triangle "play" symbol * Switch between customizable sections of the object * Pattern customization LBY* Initial section from a palette of colors * Ability to save custom…
My thought is that adding more life stages should be put on the back burner until the development of fleshed-out, multidimensional Sims of the 8 current stages (babies, infants, toddlers, children, teens, young adults, adults, elder) has been achieved.
https://youtu.be/tfRgbXjM5w0 I really love how the lighting and environment look in this. For me, the highest priority from a graphics perspective is fixing the humans themselves.
The application here is in open-world environments and less about text-based conversation. It means that NPC, non-active agents have their action queues and movements around the town dictated contextually by AI rather than pre-programmed or probabilistic methods.
I really love the customization of the world. It's like Sims 3 but better. What I'm hoping for, however, are dynamic animations between characters that make them feel alive. I want the best from Sims 2* meaningful idle animations * status animations representing low needs or a state of distress * automatic animations of…
It's a messaging social platform widely used in the gaming industry. Discord has mobile/PC/Mac apps but you can also just use your browser. You'll need to register for an account here: https://discord.com/register Once you create an account, you are able to join specific servers (communities) through invites. For example,…
Or Expectations, Abolished In all seriousness, the bug issue is not okay. I find it unacceptable that Carl's Sims 4 Guide has to teach himself modding so that he can release a fix for Sims 4 Dine Out. Is this what EA means in the recent earnings call about "more collaborative ways to further empower our community to…
