I'm waiting to hear more about the sims. Not so much a builder--I focus on legacy stories and realistic play, so I hope TS5 has a lot of stuff to do like TS4--but with more interesting sims. Hacking TS2 to make it more open world with modded 3t2 and 4t2 content takes away from game play--I hope that with the average 32GB…
This. Outside of stardom, TS2 has everything I need to keep me entertained for life, but I always found the lack of celebrity missing--I've been using hacks to enable celebrity play. And now with all of the 4t2 and 3t2 conversions--all the celebrity props are available along with the hacks.
The ability to keep my interest... :D TS2 is a timeless game. TS4 would be awesome if it were more focused on the sims and their interactions and not so focused on pie-menus, viz., pie menus shouldn't substitute actual gameplay, and if sims could surprise like they do in TS2, and if it weren't so goal/collect-them-all…
job stopper mod (lock your sims in a lower paying job for normalcy) pay for private school mod add-ons for risky whoohoo, risky runaway, and other realistic pregnancy scenarios
The sims in TS2 are beautiful and I really love BV and OFB. I also like that you can build mega hoods. Watch for family interactions (like young adult siblings scolding their siblings for breaking things or parental anxiety when a little one isn't feeling well, or sibling rivalry or hero worship... so cute)
STEM kit please. - more lab stuff and not for aliens - more engineering related stuff - more medical stuff - more computer stuff (not sci-fi) - 3D printer (with skill/badge level goodies) Dark room kit - everything sims need to develop their own photos Game Night / Pub kit - card game... sims can gamble their simoleans…
Like the kits (well at least the vacuum kit), but will probably wait until more come out and they are bundled and on sale... wonder what they will call all this stuff packed into a single bundle??? A super kit pack?! Who knows :smirk:
I would have been more keen on a professionally backed streamlined let's play series (like Jessa Sim's series) that had multiple seasons (not the players that are already available on youtube, but unknowns with novel ideas not readily available on blogs and youtube). I reckon this Spark'd show ends any future for Sims on…
Heck, I buy packs and don't even use them at all, e.g., Strangville--what is that?! Never played it. Just got snowy escape and haven't loaded the game since and when I do, doubt I'll be going there. Visited the tropical island once and never went back. That said, I like having multiple worlds to play with if I want. And…
That would be impractical from a software development perspective. There's a reason why we don't have Sims 4 and Sims 5 simultaneous releases. Asking for two different "versions" of software with completely different requirements, functional design specs, and architectural design specs is simply asking for two different…
1) Sims 2 personalities, wants, fears, attraction systems, memories. 2) A full customisable neighbourhood like Sims 2. 3) Open world with options for TS2 asynchronous time. 4) Full animations (no more cheap *poof* animation stuff)
Wow... that's why TS4 is so boring for me. I want to play with the sims and autonomy and sims' willfullness creates surprises in the game. I will be planning to marry off two sims and one of those sims will simply not be interested in the other and will fall for a townie instead--I loved that. Or when I tried to break up…
Also curious. What mod makes TS4 play like TS2? I'd love to look at it. Mods break easily in Sims 4 so that is why I don't use them, but I'd risk this mod if it exists.
In TS2 I play for realism and my darkest sim moments are a bit too dark to tell in this forum--let's just say that one of my realistic mods surprised me and almost made really cry for my sim's loss. However, I have a couple safe for a family-friendly board dark stories:* a Nanny once was burnt to death in front of the…
I originally loved this idea, but my sims are obsessed with drinking water, so much so that I thought it was a bug at first. And when my sims use the drink and food multitask feature it makes their 2-3 hour eating fest even longer :disappointed: I think the TS4 lighting is divine. The way the shadows move across the room…
TS1 - light cc TS2 - heavily modded (MATY mods) for realistic game play, heavily CC'd TS3 - vanilla (I used to play for the quest alone, now I just open the game to zoom lots and rabbit holes for my 3t2 Sunset Valley conversion) TS4 - light cc (would love sanity mods, but mods seem to break too much in this game, so I have…
I think people complain that objects are replicated from the earlier games and packaged in separate packs requiring additional purchases, viz., after going around the block, you'd think a lot of the features that are proven successful would be in the base game. TS2 and TS3 were different in that they brought entirely new…
The Katy Perry pack was just gross and obnoxious. Nothing usable for the game, and everything in it was so tacky. Was she at the height of her fame then? I have no idea why anyone would want to attach their brand to a pop star; celebrities are the worst. Edit: I love TS1 Superstar and I'm glad that TS3 and TS4 incorporated…
* TS2 usable community lots and fully customisable hood/terrain. * TS3 open world in regards to moving around lots, but NO community lot rabbit holes!!! * TS4 get to work / work rabbit hole options.
I agree. I want Sims 5 to force me to upgrade or build--I want NVIDIA to boast Sims in-game shot comparisons on their latest this-gpu-launches-rockets video card announcement. Having the luxury to play a video game itself bars a lot of people from entry--is that elitist? I don't even have all of the packs and have spent…
Without reading through the comments yet and just based on the title question alone, my answer is: 2-3 years and hundreds of dollars before we can play the game with pets, full families, seasons, cars, and lots that aren't residential. I'm hoping that TS4 will run a bit longer so that I don't have to start over again so…
I'm totally dating myself here, but I went to Best Buy to buy a copy of ClarisWorks and saw Sims 1 on display, I picked it up as an impulse buy along with my purchase... and twenty years later... :D
