Actually, all of those things did exist in previous games and then some. I'm not sure what you mean by lightning is an "actual effect" unless you mean that goofy X-Men thing? Lightning did, in fact, visibly strike the ground, items, Sims, etc. in both TS2 and TS3 and it looked exactly like lightning...not a "flash of white…
Except that all of those things were in previous Sims games, particularly TS3 and that was just the tip of the iceberg of that pack, not 90% of what was on offer. So what exactly is it that is so "gameplay heavy" about this version of Seasons?
Are you sure he's not in the Families bin? If he's showing up in the family tree and you're not opposed to mods then you could probably try using Simlogical's teleporter shrub or cat or Christianlov's mirror to summon him to a lot. Maybe one of our resident TS2 experts will know for sure what the best course of action is…
I can't even imagine a game without OFB! I honestly have to give a good think as to whether it or Seasons is the bigger gamechanger for me, I love it that much. My favorite thing to do is create multi-use community lot businesses. An example, which is also my current most succesful business, is the tavern in my hood.…
I went back for good after getting the UC (I lost my disks years ago) and was also worried at the time about how I'd feel regarding the graphics and how much I'd miss some of the innovations of the later games. I don't miss them at all now, though, the gameplay is everything and has sucked me back in :) plus there are…
Thanks @Mstybl95! I use Gunmod's Radiance lighting and, very importantly, Almighty Hat's A World Lit by Fire tweak to Radiance lighting, since my game is historical and is either lit by firelight or daylight...or moonlight, I guess :D . The other biggie I use is Pineapple's Post Effects Mod. I honestly don't do much of…
I had it happen for the first time ever in my game last year and it blew my mind that I had never seen that before. What a sweet detail! I managed to catch lots of pictures because the penguin is one of my favorite things ever and I go crazy with screenshots whenever I see him waddling up …
Lol, yeah, I know for sure that I've deleted it every time Santa has brought it. It didn't even occur to me that it might not be safe to do so, so I definitely facepalmed when I read that it was one of those random objects you have to be careful with.
This has been a very informative thread. I'm perpetually worried about corruption in my game and live in slight dread of the day that it all blows up no matter how careful I think I've been :s I have a question about the RC Car. I've read in the past that this object is treated as an NPC or something along those lines and…
