Organized mods folder, using Better Exceptions to help locate problems, and just accepting that it's part of the cost of getting to play a game in a way that's more what I want. :)
I use Nies's Cooler Sickness mod, and it's been the right amount of change for me. Not too noticeable, just more intense and longer buffs. https://modthesims.info/d/605259/cooler-sicknesses-mod-v-2-2-2.html
Me too! I'll slow down for important moments, but I get antsy after a while. I'm not particularly fast or slow in RL, so beats me why I feel that way in the Sims. I found my people! Hoorah! Yeah, I feel like the game is so well designed for people who like to make videos and stories and zoom in all the time to make it feel…
Hmm... I don't own Vintage Glamour or Bowling Night because I just got tired of SPs in general. I'll wait for a sale, I guess. But of the ones I do own: 1. Kids' Room (Looove the voidcritters and the furniture) 2. Movie Hangout (Not the greatest 'premium' thing, but I love the style of the objects and clothes) 3. Perfect…
The little animations really do make everything feel more "real", but sometimes I feel like it's all animations and very little gameplay. I used to play Sims 2 and 3 on triple speed a lot. I got this rhythm down where I could fast-forward through animations I'd seen a million times before, then slow down in time to choose…
I was thinking like the self-employment "career" in Sims 3 where you would be officially "employed" as a freelance fisherman, gardener, writer, etc. Other sims would recognize you as being a Sculptor or Painter instead of unemployed. It would also track how much money you made and give you new little titles and such so…
Yeah, my little tyke wandered off at the park to go eat someone's burrito that they'd left on the ground. XD Also, have you guys seen them play with a pan in the kitchen?
Hmm... I'm not sure any of my biggest problems with the game will realistically be fixed. Mostly I feel like the traits are too shallow and emotions too easily override things-- like I was trying to play a family where the dad and daughter hated each other and fought a lot, but even though they were at the most red of…
The GPs have been my favorite things to come out of this iteration of The Sims. There's so much depth to them, plenty of gameplay. They're just such a good idea. I hope the next one is just as good as the others have been. I'd love a new vacation spot, like a tropical one, but I'd want it to be different enough from the…
@DeservedCriticism you'd think they'd be a little keener to spruce up their image, their quality, and their relationship with fans after winning "Worst Company in America" what was it, two years in a row?
Wow, I hadn't heard about that. I mean, I knew there'd been shake-ups at Maxis/EA, and I knew they'd had to convert the game from an online game, but I hadn't heard the bad management and office politics rumors. It's really unfortunate, because it seems to me like the franchise is basically a license to print money. You'd…
There are plenty of things I like more about TS4, but I do feel like there's just not a lot to DO in it. I guess I can see how it'd be fun for people who are making up everything in their heads, but I like to feel like the game is working with me on making a story, rather than me having to fill in the narrative entirely. I…
In all the previous Sims games, I'd make between 1-4 sims, giving them a backstory as I created them. Single mom raising her kid alone, or a gay couple raising an adopted kid, random stuff like that. Then I'd play, usually intending to age them up and move on to the next generation, but instead I'd play them for a while…
If you play with families, the Kids one is a must. I love the Voidcritters and the puppet shows, and there's so much new CAS stuff for them. If you're not big into kids, I use the stuff from Movie Hangout a lot in my decorating. There's nothing else quite like it in the base game, with that fun bohemian look. But you'd…
I just encountered this! I was trying to use the new flexibility in CAS to tell the story of a trans girl who's rejected by her father, kicked out, has to survive on her own, then meets new friends and starts a family of her own. But even though I've put their relationship almost completely into the red, the dad will only…
Totally! I always find myself wishing there was some way to copy them. Especially if you are making a bunch of sims at once and you want them to have the same outfit for some reason (like if you're roleplaying as a cult or something, haha), it would really come in handy.
I totally agree on changing the description's wording, and I agree that the doors should reflect the new update's changes. I like the idea of adjusting them for sit down/stand up peeing. Alternatively, since there is still a choice in CAS between "male" and "female" (albeit with different sub-choices for how those males…
I have both. I think I find myself using the Patio stuff more, but that could just be my playstyle. As far as the new gameplay objects go, I think I prefer the hot tubs to the buffet tables/fountains. But to each their own! :)
