@BuildnShare - was a specific lot mentioned? I know the lot is "donated", but I can't seem to see which lot we need to use, if any, or if we can choose whichever lot we would like.
I think a lot of it, too, is playing around with wall textures. Yes, you can keep everything white or monochromatic, but mixing up woods and plaster, etc., adds some dimension. And landscaping, incorporating decor with the build always helps it to stand out, and fleshes out the look a lot!
Good luck on doing this! I have tried renovating complete worlds sooooo many times, but I always somehow fail to do so. I admire anyone and everyone who can have to focus to do this, lol. Your houses look great so far!
@Buildnshare - Does there need to be a communal room for the skill items, or can we put each item into their own buildings? Like, can we have an easel in Raven's building, or do we need each of the skill items all in one communal room?
I only just learned that you can't use roofs in the basement section of a build! Ack! I was hoping to create underground parking using the slanted roof as the driveway going down. I may need to figure out a different way of doing this. LOVING this challenge so far!
I, personally, use floor plans when I being a build. I love working off actual floor plans so I get a better realistic layout and flow to my builds. From there I start with the walls and rooms one the main floor, then the second, then I add the roof to complete the basic shell. From there I go on to the windows, doors and…
Hmmm....maybe a time period specific mansion/estate? Either people could pick their own time period, or one could be provided. An apartment building, no in San Myshuno, but a newly made one. I LOVE the idea of a mall, mentioned above. A castle. A house from a favorite movie. Just a few...they may have all ready be done,…
Such a great idea! My current house has 3/4 walls on the second floor, which is impossible to build in the Sims with rooms....but maybe I'll give it a shot. And try my childhood home, too, as it had a very interesting interior layout
I have uploaded a shell or two, but don't really need Maxis to fave them, so I don't mind that portion. I know there are people who do Sim challenges and like having the shell built with nothing inside.
No, I don't think there is a way to remove them. It's unfortunate, for some of the lots, that buildings and objects make it so hard to get a better view.
Wonderful builds, your most recent Love Birds cottage is beyond adorable! I love your incredible detailing on the entire lot, and the "cozy" feeling of everything is amazing.
Personally, a lot of my builds are based on Floor Plans. I LOVE them. I will change them up to meet the Sims needs, but I like having a basic layout to reference visually. Just web search House Floor Plans, and then you can look around at the architectural styles and see any you like.
@Cbear13 - Quick question: can it be 3 floors of apartments and the 4th floor is the roof area? Or 4 floors of apartments and the 5/top area for the community rooftop? Hope that makes sense.... ;)
@BuildnShare - Are we able to change a door to an archway frame instead? As an example, the little room in the front entrance hall...can I remove the door and add an arch?
@Nore - holy moly! Your incredible attention to detail, and obvious patience with your builds, continues to amaze me! I love your lush interiors, the awe-inspiring exteriors, and your ability to transform everyone build into something beyond imagination. Well done!!!
