I would say do not go with this line of reasoning because you aren't doing them any favours. Blocking out your fanbase is what companies that go down do. Companies that rise up do the exact opposite. If you need some positive cases to study, look into No Mans Sky.

EA has refused to refund The sims 4 multiple times to me, so I still own it. On top of that I am let's playing The Sims 3 on Youtube right now, streaming it on Twitch and playing The Sims 2 regularly. There are a lot of reddits where giveaways are quite common (HumbleBundle reddit for example) and posting codes like this is a huge NO NO, because more often than not, it's a bot and not a real person that does grab them.

downloading and installing rerouting on all the maps that I got alone on The Sims 3 cost me 3 hours :D It also doesn't help that you come to expect games to be "plug and play", which kind of means, you install and you go, which does not work for The sims 3 or The Sims 4 and I will forever blame EA for it.
