I most often put basements in my builds, but not always. The area I grew up in has homes that have basements so it is what I am familiar with. I use them mainly for storage, putting holiday decorations and shelves for storage. I also use them for storage of canned goods, now that we have canning in the game. A basement is…
I am very happy about the scientist career fixes and the ability to add objects to bathroom items! I have wanted both for a very long time! I use a cabinet near the sink for objects as couldn't place soap and toothbrushes on the sink, like in Sims 3. And I love playing as a scientist as it works well with other gameplay,…
I would love burglars back but I know some don't want them. Please bring them back with the ability to turn them off. I love my occults as well but it would be nice to have an off option for them as well so those who want the CAS/BB items in packs can turn them off when then want to. Personally, my occults and burglars…
@Sillyhartluv the tragic clown is in Sims 4. There is a painting with him that when viewed gives a sad mood and also a chance he will appear as NPC in the game. I believe there are gameplay videos on the tragic clown in Sims 4 on Youtube if you want to check into it.
I recently built a Family Park on a 50x50 lot with playgrounds, picnic area, basketball, pet area, fishing pond and the new water park items. I am setting up a new game in Brindleton Bay concentrating on family play, so I put my park there and expanded it out, making the water park bigger. I plan to have family/friends…
@ddd994 I believe it is part of the gameplay as my lights are always flickering on and off and frequently go off completely. I have learned to put kerosene lamps and candles in the rooms, just in case! My couple had friends over for the Winterfest holiday and of course the power went off, and she was unable to make her…
I absolutely love this pack! I really enjoy playing as a paranormal investigator and building haunted houses, based on real life houses that are considered haunted. I love the CAS that came with the pack, perfect for a true medium. Eventually I plan to have my favorite occults from shows and books so I can have a medium…
@NRowe I built an elderly home complex for my elders based on one we have locally in real life. I was a visiting nurse so I saw a lot of them and thought this one would work well for my sims. It has 3 small homes with small living room/kitchen area, bedroom and bath. I put 3 in so can have singles or couples and not go…
I love the gardening/farming in the Sims 4 that came with Cottage Living! It is a challenge to manage animals and gardens, but that is what makes it fun for me. Plus the ability to live off the land, and the ability to can your produce for future use.
@SheriSim57 I agree with you. I am disappointed in the beautiful worlds with unplayable buildings. I would prefer rabbit holes such a bookstore, grocery store, restaurants like in Sims 3 than the emptiness of beautiful buildings that are only there to fill in a world.
I built a townhouse in San Sequoia and finally took a look at the neighborhoods to decide where the house would go. It has a beautiful view from the deck in the back of the house, overlooking the water. But I found myself very disappointed in the world itself, as everywhere I looked I saw the fake backgrounds and very…
I am just tired of worlds that are beautiful but have very few building options and mostly empty buildings as a backdrop that offer no gameplay. I want bustling worlds where I can have community lots and residential so my sims so can really live in the world. I prefer the rabbit holes like in Sims 3 for downtown areas…
@fazemanpress Just build whatever you want in your neighborhood. I agree that Willow Springs looks like an area that would be in New Orleans, but areas outside of New Orleans do have more modern style homes. The Garden District has the beautiful old homes but my uncle lived in a district that had ranch houses and such. I…
I do build "apartments for my sims, and place sims I want to get together and know one another in them. I enjoy starting a sim or small family out this way. The main problem is no privacy as they are always going in each other's apartments. I use it to increase their relationships, but it would be nice to have doors that…
I haven't had a chance to play yet (need a good amount of free time so I really play!) but am looking forward to it! From what I am reading from the posts, the gameplay sounds alot like having babies and toddlers in Sims 2, so I know I am going to love the challenge! Infants require alot of time, as they are so dependent…
Moving to Sulani is probably the best for playing with a beach setting. You can actually swim in ocean, buy a boat and take up fishing, or try out one of the jobs there, such as lifeguard, marine biologist or environmental manager. If you are looking for a beach life with a relaxing atmosphere, Sulani would be my first…
I am waiting for the pack release too. I plan to decorate my townhouses using the new CAS/building stuff as I can. Really want to make a complete nursery for the new infants. Then I will add couples using some of the new features, so I can experience my game with everything this pack brings. But first I will be adding the…
@comicsforlife I just looked it up. Infant patch is scheduled for 10 am PST, 1pm for EST. I am excited about it but determined to wait until I get the pack before trying it out, so I can make use of all the features coming!
I love all the occults for the gameplay and the build/buy that comes with them! I have even built houses and community lots specific to each occult so I can changeover a world for occult gameplay, i.e. changing towns to New Orleans or Salem for specific occults to live in and making the island in Windenburg a werewolf…
@fullspiral, It depends on what your goal is with the families you move in. I built and use apartments and duplexes. I move in families/singles that I want to have develop close relationships with each other, whether friends or romantic. I don't mind that they enter each other's home, just let them "invite" each other to…
I add wild animals to my farms, parks and other areas by using the bird tree, rabbit stump and fox lot trait to my lot. @PurpleCheshire I love your Cheshire cat! Adorable!
I didn't think I would be interested in another simulation game. Not even sure about Sims 5. But seeing this one has piqued my interest! The landscapes/trees are beautiful, plus an open world, cars, and the beach! I noticed there was a volleyball net, sunbathers, and surfboards, so am assuming a lot will be in the base…
