They could package all 4 versions of the sims games like they used to do, as a compilation, with sim island, sim ant, sim earth, sim golf, etc. Sims 1, 2, 3, 4 and let people experience them all for themselves, in their own way.
I know no one wants the Sims to die (except maybe be saved/taken away from EA) - and only because of the years of enjoyment many of us have had with the previous iterations - we do buy something with the Sims, as you so aptly stated - "slapped" on it :) - hoping it will deliver. They know what they are doing. I was hoping…
Yes, i will definitely agree - never thought I would say Sims 3 was better than any other sims game - but - yes, it is way better than Sims 4. Sims 2 & 1 are my favorite for gameplay, Sims 3, definitely for the environments (especially love World Adventures and the ability to go anywhere). How in the world did they think…
Did you miss the part where I said this: But then, how can I ask in a straightforward manner, if I do not educate myself on what they are now offering, as compared to what came before? Did you miss that??? How can I, A Sims 1, 2, 3 player in good conscious criticize something I don't know anything about? I'm not going to…
So, if I understand you correctly, you are basically saying that if I buy any Sims products to keep my mouth shut because it will do no good and my only recourse is to not buy the products? But then, how can I ask in a straightforward manner, if I do not educate myself on what they are now offering, as compared to what…
After reading this, I am actually, for the first time in a while, looking forward to seeing what they will come up with - thanks for sharing this!!: “Our aim with Paradox Tectonic is to create open, fun, beautiful games which respect the players’ intelligence and enables their creativity, freedom, emotion, and sharing,”…
I understand how the business works, however, from a gamer standpoint - you know, the consumers that provide the money for the business to even exist in the first place - the version that only exists because it is now riding on the reputation of the previous versions - it is bad in the long run for EA, as it just…
Just like you said - 6 years on and it still hasn't hit any potential - yet Sims 1 & 2 hit it with far more less and more to do. No rabbitholes and with Sims 3 - the gameplay was lacking compared to Sims 1 & 2 (in my opinion) - but offers far more than Sims 4 ever has. They have made it very apparent at this stage that…

You know - at this point, I have to agree with you. I kept holding out hope that Sims 5 would be something they could surprise us with in giving us exactly what they KNOW we want - but, after this last pack - it seems to just keep getting worse and worse.
City Skylines was small and made a ton of money - where SimCity 2013, basically was killed by their arrogance. I think you are right - 20+ years is a long time to get it right and the Sims 1 got it right the first time and for some reason, they have gone backwards.
I have to say, having played since Sims 1 - there has never been an issue with being able to play same-sex relationships in this game series. Even the Servos in Sims 2, once you create one - can become romantically involved with the same sex. They can't even get the base game right in this version of the series - they…
This is not the Sims. It is laziness. It is not gameplay. It is staring at the screen while watching a bar rise - no brain activity on a simmer's part. No creativity. Nothing. This is progress after 20 years in a game series?
The ONLY reason I have spent my money on this version of the series is because of the fondness I have for Sims 1-3. I don't want the Sims to die, but, this is not the Sims I know.
I think that the young are bright and have the ability to learn and grow quickly and this version of the game is basically so dumbed-down - that it is an insult to think they can't handle something more creative and complex.
