  • Just watching this. The game run very smooth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZgiXXjkHr8 Please don't argue that this is just base game with single sim. I tried this before with single sim and only base game with 1.67 patch applied and no mods/CC. Game stutter very frequent on i9-9900K / GTX 1080 Ti unlike in the video.
  • I have 256GB SSD since 2014 and still use that capacity till today I don't have to "move" document library to HDD. The 256GB SSD is enough for Windows 10 / TS3 plus tons of expansions and CC / Some of my other main games like Cities Skylines / Totalwar Rome II / Attila / Warhammer. So it shouldn't have problem with TS3…
  • 128GB and 256GB SSD price different is negligible today. So I vote for 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD. :D 128GB work well for Windows + Sims 3 + CC + many expansions and maybe some small programs. You will have problem when you want to install more games.
  • Hey sorry for late and long reply. In TS3 AA is called FSAA (Full Screen Anti Aliasing) which is not that high quality. There are many better alternative. First is injecting SMAA to the game via Reshade. It does a great job. Reduce most of jagged edge with little performance penalty. Actually this is extremely suitable for…
  • Play TS1 since 2000. Skip TS2. Play TS3 again in July 2010 and spend time on troubleshooting more than play the game itself... Become PC enthusiast due to TS3. Constantly upgrade CPU / motherboard / RAM / GPU / monitor and even going for full custom water cooling because fear that TS3 will burn my PC. Also meet my wife due…
  • 3GB or 6GB is mostly not different if play only TS3. 1440p max + heavily use of Reshade only consume around 1200-1500MB and that with 28 Sims on one house. You will exceed 3GB on 5K (5120x2880) resolution though. Mine consume 3429MB VRAM. Look at red rectangle on upper left corner. PS. i5-7600K / i7-7700K are obsolete now.…
  • The CPU is OK for sims but the HD 3000 and GT555M is way underpower. There is no need to turn on V-sync or limit fps as mention. I guess this laptop is 6-7 years old ? TIM may dry out and you may need to reapply it if you want to continue using it. BSOD should be take care seriously. What code do you got it ? Consider…
  • Try my suggestion... 1.ALWAYS use save as instead of save or save and quit. 2.ALWAYS save as and quit the game every 2 hours. The longer you play , The more memory leak and the dreaded error 12. 3.If you get error 12 during save then try lowering these settings to minimum (resolution , edge smoothing , high detail lot).…
  • There are many ways to deal with overheat graphics card. 1.Turn on V-Sync in your driver. I don't really recommend this for some games as it will add input lag but it doesn't matter for Sims 3. 2.Limit framerate in RTSS. Try Google search for this. 3.Apply custom fan profile in MSI afterburner. At the cost of noise. 4.If…
  • Bump even know that chance we will get 64 bit for Sims 3 from EA is non existent. But I hope that someone will make the dream come true.
  • First sorry for my bad English. Not my native language. I hope that Sims 5 will be fully optimized game. No frametime spike on high end PC. Ultra smooth 0.1% low and 1% low frametime. Native 64 bit support. Multicores (8 cores or more) / SMT support. Low level API like DirectX 12 or Vulkan support for better draw calls for…
  • CPU is weak. Change CPU + M/B to at least i3-6100 + some cheap H110 M/B and everything will be a lot better. GTX 650 Ti is already enough for Sims 3. If you don't play graphics intensive games don't change vga. 6GB RAM is enough also. Sims 3 is 32 bit app and can't take advantage of more than 4GB Memory. But if you want to…
  • Sims 3 is best. Sims 1 is glorious at it's time. Sims 2 can't say because I never play it. Sims 4 ... $uck in my opinion. Just like Simcity 2013.
  • > @HappySimmer3 said: > Thank you everyone for the input. I will switch out to the EVGA power supply. I believe the 980 GPU adds a lot more to the cost, but I'll check it out. Edit - yeah, about $400 more, so...I'm thinking the 970 will have to do. > > @chesterbigbird I did have 'maximum 120mm case fans' selected also, is…
  • This PC is really overkill for Sims 3 and Sims 4. All you need is i5-6XXX , 8GB RAM , GTX 750 Ti / 950 / R7-370. But if you plan to play AAA games such as GTA V , BF4 , Witcher 3 , Fall Out 4 , Far Cry Primal , Rise of Tomb Raider etc. You are good to go. Probably if I were you I will swap i7-6700K to i5-6600K (if you…

  • CPU and memory are fine. Just upgrade graphics card. I suggest GTX 750 Ti since it can handle max setting for Sims 3 and 4 at 1920x1080 resolution with no trouble. The other reason why I recommend 750 Ti is most OEM computer has very weak power supply. Most GTX 750 Ti don't have power connector so you need not to change…

In launcher options disable memories , disable the store from loading in CAS. Keep your sims inventories low and household inventories low. I…
  • I forget to mention that something is better. - When Sims change their cloth (to sleep , to shower etc) they did instantly (before ramdisk I have to wait several second). - Less lag (but still lag) Seriously now thinking to get 32GB RAM since my entire Sims 3 folder is 16GB. :D
  • I try easy method (1GB Ramdisk). When I enter CAS and select something like hair or cloth it still delay a little bit (not sure because of CPU singlethread bottleneck (I see one of my core hit nearly 100% even with 2600K @ 4.825Ghz) or because memory bandwidth is still too low ( read , write , copy all around 30000 MB/Sec…
  • I never install anything from Nvidia except just vga driver. The only program that I found useful is Nvidia Inspector. For GTX 960 you should have no problem playing Sims 4 with max setting for 1080p or even 1440p (native or DSR).
  • Both nvidia and amd are reset. I have 7970 R9-290 R9-290X GTX 970 in the past and now GTX 780 Ti. Every driver update cause reset. If EA/Maxis has no control then they should tell nvidia and amd to add Sims3,4 to profile.
  • > @Kayla1000 said: > Will this laptop play sims well > ACER Aspire ES1-531 15.6" Laptop > Probably well on low-medium setting since Pentium 4 + GT 210 can run Sims 4 easily. You can search "Sims 4 Pentium 4 in Youtube. I am new member so I can't post link.
  • Thanks for clarifying. Maybe I have to wait for Sims 5 to get back open world , CAST , etc that is missing from Sims 4 and most important thing is perfectly optimization. :)
  • I saw this blog but I really can't understand what he's doing. He mention about Sims 3 64 bit project in the near bottom of that page. Other than that is over my head. simoluan.tumblr.com
  • I don't like Sims 4. I miss several things that disappear from Sims 3 like open world , CAST , terrain tool , toddler and the worst is loading screen everywhere. Sims 4 also be 32 bit. When several expansion / game pack / stuff pack and several mod / CC come out it will slowdown , lag , crash like Sims 3. I am hardcore…
