  • I can't wait! Guessing this will be the big part of the September update? Surprised the roadmap didn't mention this.
  • The shots showed during Behind the Sims tells me that we've got at least another year. It seems that Rene is still pretty early in development.
  • I think Nvidia and a few others have produced models that can produce a simple 3D model, but that's as best as it's gotten now. I noticed on Replicate there is now a model that can take a frontal photo of a face and make a 3D model of it. I think that, with a lot of work, it is most certainly doable, but it would be…
  • Get to Work needs it badly--especially when you're working in the hospital career. Your "coworkers" really don't help and get in the way. The "receptionist" doesn't do their job, and it seems the routing is programmed to always stick a nurse or doctor in your way when you're trying to diagnose a patient. Dine Out needs it…
  • I'm guessing probably next week's live stream. I'm really curious how many lots it'll have. I've already got over a half-dozen households plus the Roswells that I plan to integrate into this pack, and I want to be able to build a tack shop/feed store. If it's not really that big, chances are, I'll be using Strangerville or…
  • Why not both? For some saves, I just want to mess around. For others, I prefer as much realism as possible. It's as simple as having settings for it.
  • When I saw that job posting for someone to essentially manage and plan the microtransactions, that was my immediate thought. And it was specifically for "Project Rene", not an independent Freeplay/Mobile successor. My problem is that it seems to me that EA's plan is to roll the next PC and mobile Sims titles into one game.
  • Still hoping that Rene is really just a mobile successor with PC compatibility, while TS4 continues. Too many things (i.e. Head of Monetization job listing) lead me to believe that I'm not gonna like what Rene will become. Seems like unlike the best of each game rolled into one, we're ending up with the worst of each game…
  • I am sure hoping they realized "Whoa, we nearly made this mistake with TS4, maybe we ought to rethink this". However, I have the premonition that they want online, multiplayer, and microtransaction-ridden. Three things I could care less about. My frustrations with FreePlay were what eventually led me to get TS3 and TS4.
  • Definitely a really good set of CAS here. However; I think there needed to be a lot more variations on the cowboy hat. Doesn't make sense to me why the English technical shirt and riding tights are a full body outfit instead of separate items, or that it doesn't have a female equivalent. English kinda got the short end of…
  • I honestly don't see the point, as TS4 is neither open world like TS3 nor open neighborhood like TS2. Plus, look at how all the lots lay next to roads and streets. Very few of them have access to the road, and houses don't have driveways built into the lots/sidewalks. It'll take a major overhaul of most of the worlds and…
  • I've been preparing ever since we first started having rumors of a horse pack prior to Eco Living. Using my typical go-to sources (Flickr, stock photo sites, and websites/social media of a few tack/Westernwear retailers), I had already made several Sims. I've refreshed them so many times, they at least resemble the…
  • Here's the first Sim I started refreshing for Horse Ranch. I'd originally created her a couple of months back, but hadn't done much since. In fact, I even forgot to change most of the outfits of the existing Sim I started with. Based loosely on: https://www.flickr.com/photos/blackhawk32/12623016875/in/datetaken/ There have…
  • I think that that more stuff about it will come out during the summer. Paralives has posted a lot of development screenshots and videos, but they never gave a date of any sort (and I'd say it's still years off from being available). When the Life By You Trailer dropped with a September date for Early Access, it may have…
  • Definitely as soon as possible, given how long I've wanted horses. However, I honestly don't see a need to preorder it.
  • I think Rod Humble did exactly as I hoped (and expected)--took what made Sims 2 and Sims 3 great, rolled it all into one, and then made improvements that were allowed by the more powerful hardware of modern computers. I can't wait, even though I may have to wait a bit after September, as I need to change out RAM (12 on…
  • I'm curious about the Sim in the roadmap image. Will she be one of the premade Sims that ships with Horse Ranch, or will she be something that Maxis eventually uploads to their gallery account?
  • Horses have been at the top of my wishlist pretty much ever since I started playing TS4. Glad to finally have them. I can't wait for the trailer to provide even more details. I'm also looking forward to "Behind the Sims". Hopefully, it provides more information and insight into TS5/Rene.
  • Horses--well, uh, duh. Sheep and goats--a pleasant surprise. CAS--I already have a decent amount of Sims I've created based on equestrian athletes, ranch staff, and catalog models (3/4 of which were also equestrian athletes or ranchers). TS4 lacks a ton of the attire they wore in the photos--especially well-worn-looking…
  • It sounds like the "training grounds" can't be edited, much like the Strangerville lab at the very least, or worse, a rabbit hole (like the TS3 Equestrian Center). Hopefully, things like the chaps are pants and NOT a full-body outfit. I have too many Sims that were created in advance of an eventual horse pack, and there…
  • I'm so glad this was a real pack. I knew that after all the hints after Growing Together, we HAD to be getting horses, but the evidence from the key reseller sites was shaky at best, and when I saw that strange description, I KNEW it was fake. I was holding out for Tuesday to bring an official announcement, and well, it…
  • The description has me a bit suspicious. First of all, even though it is translated, it seems to not have the typical tone or structure of an EP description, and it's worded weird. Secondly, the whole "online" component just doesn't make sense. As some of the comments over on Twitter said--it's probably something someone…
  • If the release date is truly July 20, I suspect that, by next Tuesday, there will be an announcement. If there isn't, that's when I would get suspicious. I'm still leaning toward it being real this time, as opposed to the last "farm" pack fake leak that was some time before Eco Living in 2020 which had fake box art and…
  • All of the Expansion Packs except for Growing Together. I have been waiting for a sale. but if we are truly getting an EP with horses, that becomes my top priority, and will most definitely buy that pack on day one. Gamepacks--all of them except for Wedding Stories and Dream Home Designer--and I'm trying to decide which…
  • About two or three years ago, there was a fake "leak" circulating that alluded to a "farm pack" including horses-thus, I'm a little reluctant to admit this is real. However, there are just too many hints alluding to horses in Growing Together and related patches (i.e. my first infant had a horse-print onesie). Thus, they…
  • I think we're ready to have another Sim City (5) vs. Cities: Skylines scenario. And ironically, it looks like Paradox will be at the forefront of it, alongside Paralives and a few other lesser-known games.
  • Between UBlock and a few other privacy extensions, I really don't even get ads these days. Those that slip through the cracks get blocked too--manually.
  • I think I called it when I figured the "Hot Update" was a Caliente refresh from day one. They do resemble their TS2 selves more and look less cartoonish in my opinion. I'm glad the idea of refreshing stuff we already have isn't dead. Hoping we get a Dine Out or Get to Work refresh later on.
  • I can honestly say, with having to mow (and trim with a weed eater) a 3-acre yard that is so full of terrain changes and obstacles that it is difficult to mow with a riding mower and has to mostly be mowed with a self-propelled/push mower, I can't say I'm crazy about a "yard and garden" type pack much like Bust the Dust.
