Yes you can. I've done it at least with 2 families. All will be in the same class during class times. Keeping track of the free times can be challenging especially with more than 2.

I usually place the outdoor bin at the side or back of the house and place a fence or half wall around it leaving an opening or gate if necessary. I surround the area with some shrubs and flowers to blend it in.

The first group will graduate and leave before the second, if you have already played the first group. When you move the second group in, the locals will automatically be moved out. You will get a message when you move the 2nd group in about the locals being relocated. You don't have to do anything special.

Once you have aged the friend to teen, you can send him to college at anytime, just don't put him(her) on the same lot as you have Etsu. I'm just getting back into Sims 2 and it's been awhile, but I did use to play businesses quite a bit. I think that businesses can only be inherited by members of the same household. I, also, always use Bonehilda in any University dorm I place a Sim in. But, before sending someone to University, I edit the dorm to be used. I usually upgrade the kitchen appliances, TV, computers & bathrooms, because Bonehilda will in autumn & early winter be outside raking leaves for hours.
