I think it should be expansion pack for a mainline Sims game. It could be like Into the Future, just reversed. TSM was okay, but it wasn't a very strong Sims game or RPG.
Windows 11 looks like it's Windows 10 underneath, so I'm guessing Sims 3 should work. The Sims 1 and Sims 2 work on Windows 10 (after some tweaking), so they'll probably work on 11 too.
§10-§15 seems about right. I was lucky enough to get the Ultimate Edition, since I bought the individual TS2 games on Origin and that had to be more than §40.
It would be cool. Projects like OpenTTD, OpenRCT2 and FreeSO are great! I don't think it will happen to TS1 sadly. Of course, there is an open version of SimCity Classic...
I wouldn't say it's impossible. It's possible to port The Sims 1 to mobile. Whether EA would find it worthwhile to do so and they don't put micro-transactions in or ruin the gameplay is another story.
Medieval was an interesting concept. However, it wasn't a very good a The Sims game or an RPG/Kingdom builder. EAxis should of either made a deeper RPG or made it into a full The Sims game (at which point it would've made more sense as an expansion).
I think they were talking about The Sims 4. A lot of people seem to think this is a general Sims forum, rather then one for The Sims 1. Perhaps EA should create a general Sims forum. I mean where else can we talk about Sim Animals? :p
Since EA doesn't want to give The Sims 2: Ultimate Edition away for free anymore, they should sell it for $5-$10 USD on Origin or other services. Come on EA loads of people still want The Sims 2 and you can make some scratch too.
1. Yeah cockroaches are annoying. I always kept my lots clean and they rarely appeared. When they did appear, I'd just call the the Exterminator. As to your Sim running out in the the middle to get the roaches, I can't remember if free will affected that behavior or if this is just Sims being stupid and needing to lay down…
It is possible to run The Sims 1 on Windows 10 already. All you need is a no CD patch. So it's possible if The Sims 1 were released digitally, one of the biggest hurdles to playing on Windows 10 wouldn't be an issue anymore.
They probably removed the feature because they added ceiling and wall lights in later TS1 expansions, plus lights didn't have to be accessible by Sims anymore.
