Switching from one family to rotational play really changed how fun I found the Sims. I used to play one family for generations then get bored. But now I find the whole game more interesting. I also play with different sim personalities because I don't feel the same pressure to make everything perfect like I did playing…
I was inspired to start this challenge in another thread asking about gameplay. It seemed popular. I'd never read the rules and assumed it would be easier (get married, have a bunch of kids, the end), but after reading them, I saw I was very wrong and knew I had to try it. I downloaded this spreadsheet to keep track. Does…
Most of my people end up in families, but I like to play realistically. I don't have the Vampires pack, because I didn't love Vampires in Sims 3. But it seems like a lot of people like it, so maybe I'll try it out.
When I first heard about this pack, I figured I'd be an immediate "no." But the clothes aren't as bad as I expected, and I'm intrigued by the new career. I never pay full price for the Sims though, so if I do, I'll be waiting for a sale.
I'm really stoked about all of this! I also always just thought it was my sims who were the only ones who always cancelled the put toddler to bed action. I'm excited to see that in action. My fishing sim just hit level 10 and the fishing aspiration so it's a bummer those just got updated before he could experience them…
Whoops, I voted too quickly. I'd probably buy it, but not straight away. I'd likely wait for an EP or two. The base games historically have just been so boring.

Thanks for reminding me starting from the desktop is an option! TS4 loaded up a little slowly but otherwise seems to be working fine. Origin…
When sims age from teens to young adults I make them new outfits. From there, it's pretty rare. Maybe 1-2 times more in their life. If the toddlers are born with ridiculous clothes, I'll change those too.
This is the way I always played too. Even back in the old days, when the legacy challenge first came out, I had this struggle. A few months ago I searched the forums for this same question. I read several people recommend rotational play. So I gave it a shot. I LOVE it. I've found one family in particular I really enjoy,…
I have found seasons really interesting. Once I learned how to edit the holidays, that made holidays more interesting, too. Rotational play has helped a lot as well. I don't follow a set pattern, but it's neat to be at one household and see my other sims walking around/making friends, etc. I think Seasons has made those…
I'm a new rotational player and I really like it. I turned off aging for houses I'm not playing. I still get the random death and age-up. But it's kept the game more fun and interesting to rotate around. I don't follow a specific timeline for when I switch families. I didn't start with aging-off so I needed to replenish a…

Thanks for asking this. I was starting to wonder if I misremembered whims in Sims 4 and was mixing them up with something from Sims 3. I have no clue why they’d default to hiding whims???
