  • Pretty much every modern game now has some form of weather as they attempt to be as immersive as possible. It is a standard feature and really should have been in the game when it was released in 2014.
  • Strange how The Sims 1, 2 and 3 didn't need to have patches for their base games every month to add additional content. The Sims 3 launched with all lifestages present. The Sims 4, we had to wait over two years for toddlers and babies are still stuck in the year 2000. The Sims 4 is also missing staple base game NPCs and of…
  • I play scores of games every year on multiple systems, and shock horror, most of them are complete games that do not need updates every month to add content that should have been there at launch.
  • Seems to me like it was a shortcut because they did not want to spend time creating a bowling venue. Let's see if families and teens autonomously go to these nightclub/bowling hybrids at night.
  • The Sims 3 on PC is still for sale and has constantly been listed as one of the top selling PC games every year since its release. Are the sales figures quoted for The Sims 3 actually including the sales from 2014 onwards? The reality could be that it is has sold far more than the quoted figures.
  • If you think how much an unofficial custom content creator charges for items on their own private minecraft server is really relevant to how much EA charges for The Sims 4 DLC that is your prerogative. I don't.
  • It certainly is not over. The base game is still incomplete and buggy. I expect a single player game to be complete at launch. I do not, and should not, have to wait years for the developers to complete their game. I did not sign up to an alpha, beta or early access game. I purchased what I was lead to believe was a…
  • You do realise that Pokemon is a Nintendo property that is not affiliated with Minecraft in any way? The server you speak of is not a Pokemon server, but an unofficial fan made creation. Minecraft allows private individuals to run their own servers. Those prices are set by the creator of the items who is a custom content…
  • I don't think it could happen because I think it is already happening. Perhaps you should start a complaint thread for bugs and the like? If you do, I sincerely hope people take part and it does have some effect.
  • @DeservedCriticism have you read any of the reviews about Mass Effect Andomeda? It is full of bugs, animations are poor and reviewers ultimately believe EA forced its released in an unfinished state so that they could boost their revenue before the end of the financial year. We are dealing with EA - they don't care about…
  • Why should people be expected to pay for new content when the existing content doesn't work properly? I'd say this thread is perfectly timed. I wonder what parts of this bowling pack are going to be broken and buggy and what existing content it is going to break. And of course most of these problems will go ignored by…
  • I've said the same thing for a while: EPs are basically just more stuff and skills, they do nothing to expand the sims themselves adding to their A.I. No matter how many EPs and GPs are added to this game is going to make it more playable for players who are more discerning until Maxis start addressing the problems many of…
  • I think it is a good thing that they are releasing something with a completely different theme after vampires because it means there is something new for players who do not like the supernatural aspect.
  • I felt the same until I saw San Myshuno - it's tiny.
  • Actually in video gaming the word lag is usually reserved for online games: the delay in response from the client computer to the server and vice versa. It has various causes. That is why his friend said an offline game cannot have lag. For offline games, the common term to describe a delay in the input and action of a…
  • @SimsILikeSims I understand the points you are making about the differences between the games, but let's not forget that the Sims 2 was released in 2004 and so was bound by the technology of that time period. The reason so many complain about The Sims 4 is because it is not using the technology of today. It has gone…
  • Another thing I preferred about The Sims 3 worlds was that teh game did not auto-populate teh world like it does in 4. I could pretty much create every sims in town. In 4, you can replace all the people in every world and then the game will just keep auto-generating sims you do not want in your world.
  • @Vogel Fantastic points raised. Posters constantly get accused of being haters or having an agenda or ruining the forums if they are negative about The Sims 4. The Sims 4 is solely to blame for the negative posts. It failed to live up to players very reasonable expectations and over two years later, it is still lacking…
  • I wrote in this thread: forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/15615469/#Comment_15615469 I prefer actual unique gameplay, to a backdrop. After all, aren't games supposed to be interactive? One really does get tired of having to use one's imagination with so much in The Sims 4 because of the corner cutting. A fashion…
  • I prefer actual unique gameplay, to a backdrop. After all, aren't games supposed to be interactive? One really does get tired of having to use one's imagination with so much in The Sims 4 because of the corner cutting. A fashion district should have shops, design studios, fashion shows, celebrities, wealthy sims in…
  • It's inaccessible though isn't it? Basically a fake backdrop that isn't even a rabbithole.
  • Can you imagine what the quality of EPs in The Sims 4 would be like if they produced two year? Not one of the three released so far has been high quality; they couldn't even animate elevators in City Living.
  • I just don't think it should be called an EP. It doesn't expand the game or add any new functionality to the sims themselves. Everything in it is lacklustre. The city is tiny. There are no new animations for new interactions such as the eating contest and the elevator. The camera jumps up and down from street level to your…
  • I disagree with the bolded part. There are things missing in The Sims 4 that absolutely should not come in an EP but a free update; burglars and cars are an example. Also how can an EP address the fact the traits in this game are being overridden by the emotion system? The fundamentals of this game need tweaking, and I do…
  • I understand not everyone wants what I want. If people think an unanimated elevator is high quality then that is their prerogative I suppose.
  • If they keep adding content that is of toddlers and vampire quality, can make traits more effective, add burglars, and at the minimum a car travelling animation, I will finally be fully on board with this game and not hoping that they hurry up and release The Sims 5.
  • I use disgusting because I play lots of other games and I can tell you quality wise, The Sims 4 is lagging behind. I think what they palmed off on us in 2014 was an empty shell. I hope they can improve the game. I do enjoy it in short bouts, but it really should be better than it is for a game of its generation.…
  • Immersion and high quality? Well I'm still waiting for cars, and for sims to stop magically teleporting to locations they have travelled to. I find it immersion breaking and disgusting that a game of this era thinks that it is acceptable. City Living's elevators are not even animated. Not seeing this high quality, just…
  • You're telling me how I feel and that I feel superior because I did not shell out money for rubbish. I actually purchased City Living and regretted it. I am one of those players who purchase The Sims content because it is The Sims. So talking about facts: Is San Myshuno not tiny when it is supposed to be a city? Is the…
  • I could see where the poster was coming from with that comment. City Living does nothing well. San Myshuno is tiny. Festivals are basically base game content. There is no new eating animation for the eating contest. No animation for the elevator in an EP released 2016! Apartments restricted to San Myshuno. Camera jumping…
