Backups doesn't always work. I had backups of everything downloaded years ago. Now none of them show as valid downloads and the launcher won't install them.

Neato, I never knew that either. I was just checking it out though, and it looks like that preview only shows up when you are in "Choose Household" mode of town setup.

You don't actually need to have a recognized graphics card. Just put the settings where you want. The Sims 3 is almost 15 years old. It should run fine on any PC that isn't one of those $200 Wal-Mart specials.

Yeah, EA is just really bad at building lots. I've been playing in Barnacle Bay lately and the Goldbeards and the Inkbeards were getting stuck all the time. I finally just used edit town to move them out, bulldoze their crappy houses and put down one of my larger houses to move them back in. Problem solved.

A couple of days ago, one of my sims was cooking pancakes for breakfast. So of course, right then the foal decides to have a birthday and everybody ran outside to cheer. If you have the Door of Life and Death from Grim's Ghastly Manor you can hang out with the Grim Reaper when he's not on the job. I had one sim start dating him, and they had a baby together. I seem to recall the kid always had weird glitches though.

It's probably a problem with the rabbithole positioning. Make a backup save, then delete the whole building, fix the stairs and then put the building back from Community Objects in build mode. You might have to use the moveobjects on cheat to get it in place.

If the lot is too small, you can always copy it to the bin, then put it back down on a larger empty lot. I have built a resort, up to 5 stars even. But it was a long time ago, just after Island Paradise came out, so I'm a little rusty. You're probably better off just looking at Carl's guide.

56 feet?! I'd say that's too big. ;) A 56" monitor would probably be too big for a desk as well. I find the 21" monitor I have now to be just fine. AAMOF, I use Sims 3 in windowed most almost all the time anyway. It's not like it's super hi-res or you need to see tiny details anyway.
