  • I agree with you, I don't foresee the core systems of the games being changed or upgraded to the kind of game I want to play. That's why I'm keeping my eyes open for news on Paralives and maybe the Sims 5, although it honestly would not surprise me at this point if the Sims 5 is online, or, even more shallow and cut back…
  • The thing is, there's no real conflict. No consequences. No real motivation. The Sims have no real personalities, so they get along with everyone, will do everything, and don't care about anything. You can set an aspiration for the Sim, completely ignore it, and they won't care at all. In The Sims 2, if I ignore my sim's…
  • For me the frustrating part is that I don't really want to have to demolish any existing houses or lots to build and add things to the worlds. So not having the ability to place my own lots, and not having many empty lots, is annoying. I prefer to leave the town as is, maybe renovate or upgrade things here or there... but…
  • It doesn't make me feel better lol, not at all... the world changed with one or two sims on one lot, playing a certain way for 20 minutes? ... you gotta be kidding hahahaha. It ought to be the result of a whole neighbourhood initiative! It should take in-game-weeks of the whole community living greener to clear the air, or…
  • With all of the new info about this EP out through the livestream, and the EA Gamechanger videos, here are some thoughts - The base game update will be fantastic. Thanks, Sims team. That's honestly a great update, I'm excited for it. But it does feel a bit 'making up for what coulda/shoulda/woulda been in the base game in…
  • Yes exactly! I certainly don't want to see the Sims franchise die, not at all! But some competition might be good to show what other things could be done within this "life simulation" genre. My little brother is currently coding a game with Unity (the game engine the Paralives team are using) and some of the things that…
  • Oh nice, that's cool to hear. I'm glad it is still a topic of conversation!! I just meant that it was ages ago that I was on the forums reading about it :) Not that Rod Humble was my favourite person - I preferred Will Wright's work haha. But at least he's got a bit of experience
  • I'm so glad that you've started playing the Sims 2!! I'm still not tired of it and I've been playing since it released haha. I do have a lot of CC and mods though... The Sims 2 just proves that you don't actually need the best graphics ever to have a fantastic, engaging simulation game. Stardew Valley too - these games…
  • Not really... I mean, the traits are not great lol, and a lot of them are closer to an "interest" than a "personality trait". I see interests as something that should span effect every sim - so every sim could be interested or disinterested in these topics, for much deeper personality and gameplay interactions.
  • That was Plumbella talking about Paralives. I agree with her - with a brand new franchise, you might be able to turn a "blind eye" to a couple more quirks than with a new Sims game. (I love Plumbella, she usually always says what I'm thinking!) I'm so keen for there to be competition in a market which has been monopolised…
  • Yay! I'm so glad that you agree. 😊 I just feel like we really need SOMETHING to make the Sims in TS4 feel unique. In TS2, I love playing the sims very much according to their interests - it gives so much more direction to the gameplay. Like if I'm not sure if a sim should do something or not, I can easily check their…
  • In The Sims 2, you can actually really easily change them if you use the testingcheatsenabled cheat... you can literally just click and drag over the interests to change the levels haha. But yes, I'd love to be able to set them in CAS!
  • For me it would be more about milking cows, gathering chicken eggs, shearing sheep for wool (to knit?! :hushed: ), feeding your animals your compost, farming grains and other foods, having a neighbourhood farmer's market to sell your wares, that kind of thing. I think they could do a full and very fun expansion pack…
  • I have to agree with you. I'm not sure that this means we could have a smog-covered, trash-filled San Myshuno. If that IS a possibility, then that is cool and I will give the pack more credit. I'm always trying to give credit where credit is due with the Sims 4. But yeah, I'm just a bit skeptical... it could definitely…
  • If that was the description of the back, I would have it on pre-order lol
  • I always agree with your posts, @Sk8rblaze :D Every single one. Much respect 🤙🏼
  • Big yes to so many things in this post. I think the mistake many simmers make is assuming that the team want the same thing that we do... A lot of simmers, particularly those who have been playing the game since 2000, want an improved & upgraded version of the older games. The dev team would seem to prefer making a…
  • Not to mention that they keep doing free base-game giveaways, and this iteration of the Sims has made them the most money... ever?? They can't be that strapped for cash? I'm sure there are some restrictions and limitations put on the team by EA - there always is in business. I worked in retail for many years and frequently…
  • I'm sure that they are passionate and lovely and all things wonderful. I am not trying to bash any gurus. HOWEVER. I AM trying to "voice my opinion in a constructive way". ALSO. What the heck is wrong with asking for stuff that we've had in previous sims games, but better than before? Sims 3 is a laggy, not-very-well…
  • If it is craft-heavy, then they should have just included Knitting in this pack, or visa-versa. How about a fully-fledged hobbies and talents pack, similar to The Sims 2 Freetime, where our sims can have actual interests and tastes, talents, preferences? With MANY different hobbies? My goodness, "less new things to draw…
  • You're not wrong, in some respects, but I don't know that we're talking about large-scale agriculturalism here. I think we're more talking about "farming" as in having a small, self-sustaining-style farm to source your family and maybe your immediate community... Grass-fed, free-range, all that good stuff. Having some…
  • I feel you, and I'm happy to hear that a member of the "target audience" is also disappointed with this pack idea, and would have loved a farming pack. It would be so fun to have a sustainable little community raising privately owned animals, and coming together with community gardens, locally-owned businesses and produce…
  • The video is up to 15k dislikes on YouTube now, and I hope it keeps getting voted down. This is just not a good expansion pack. It's all rehashed ideas of what is already in the game, as many of you have pointed out. Maybe it could have sold as a gamepack. But this is what we've been waiting for after so long a new content…
  • Bruh, this is the biggest glorified gamepack everrrrr. This is not exciting. This does not EXPAND my gameplay. Most of the objects I saw in the trailer look recycled from other packs. The robot machines... Get to Work. The "chicken" coop (I really, really wanted chickens :'( ) - Seasons beehive. The conservationist ideas -…
  • I want chickens. That's pretty much all I'm gonna say until I see what the pack is really about...
  • 6 years of me still playing The Sims 2 almost daily because it is still a better game. And you know what's amazing? The Sims 2 doesn't even really have "traits". It has personality points and interests, like in the Sims 1. Somehow, those systems plus proper wants & fears, attractions and aspirations, means that pretty much…
  • I feel you. In the survey they wrote the question as "story progression for unplayed sims", which makes me assume that as long as your household was marked as "played", any story progression wouldn't affect them. I hope. lol. It's already really difficult to play rotationally in the Sims 4. The fact that you can't pause a…
